Description: Ishli qyufta, hashlama, chanakh, shashlik chalahach, aragats, Sevan trout in white wine, tapacaz – these words sound like music for those who had a chance to taste the fabulous dishes of the Armenian cuisine in Ani restaurant. Difficult pronunciation of amazingly delicate dishes is the heritage of the rich history of the most ancient world cuisine - Armenian.

“Cool interieur, ok food”
Reviewed 27 September 2012

Of all the places we tried in Kiev during the days we were there, this was probably the best in bringing the food to all the guest at _almost_ the same time. The service hasn't been good anywere, but were therefor ok here. The food was ok, pretty good actually.
The interieur was kind of cool though, we sat in some sort of cave. We had a really good time. The thing they could change 'til next time were the "musicians", singing an playing. Horrible, actually.
But, yes, go there, why not? :)

“Armenian place...”
Reviewed 24 January 2012

Just okay...I'd go somewhere else especially if you are short on time. it's also located inside the courtyard on a second floor, so there is nothing really to see there...

Thank Vladks

“Decent and generous Armenian cuisine”
Reviewed 4 March 2011

Ani restaurant of Armenian cuisine is situated on the Top floor of Olympijski shopping mall, so I happen to drop in here from time to time to smooth after-shopping stress.

This place, a member of Kozyrna karta chain of restaurants, is notable for excellent service, which is rare in Kyiv, and very good cuisine.

It is either my luck to choose the right time to visit, or the place is rare too busy. Surprisingly, because Ani is equally good for different occasions and various visitors. There are separate halls to host a banquet, and some tables are situated in niches or in stylized Armenian huts to provide enough privacy for a romantic dinner. Special menu for kids make it easier for families with children.

The menu is rather extensive, and is largely represented by traditional Armenian entries. Servings are generous, and the meal is rather rich. But take away is possible.

Selection of traditional Armenian appetizers is so versatile that trying it you can get full before the main course. At least Satsivi (spicy chicken with nuts) should be tried. Interesting assortment of Armenian cheese is also offered. Meat dishes are very good here, while fish could be done better. Salmon in Armenian herbs didn’t impress me last time I was there. Grill and shashlyk (mangal-menu) entries are extensive and very decent, too. Also, make sure you don’t miss khachapuri – puff bakery stuffed with cheese, meat, or spinach; just excellent! And of course, do try their home-made tarkhun – soft drink made out of tarragon herb. I don’t remember to have ever been able to try deserts, though some are on the menu.

Service, as I said, has always been very good here. Waiters are attentive and helpful in choosing the right meal, and the serving speed is just right.

Do give Ani a try if you are around Olympijskii stadium. Hope they won’t get spoilt.
