Al Faro is my old-time favourite that's been there for years without losing in quality or popularity. It specialises in Italian gourmet cuisine with a modern twist, although there's also a few pizzas on the menu. My absolute favourite is their tuna, baked medium rare with fennel and black honey (note that it only comes with some fennel on the side so order an additional side dish - grilled potatoes with onions are delicious! - if you feel like a larger meal). Another favourite of mine is their trio of bruschettas - traditional chopped tomatoes with basil, chickpea pâté, and red bean pâté, served with grilled bread on the side. For dessert, try one called Dessert Lake - it's a mix of nuts and chopped fruit served inside a chocolate sphere, which is then sprinkled with Triple Sec and flambé'd. There's a special weekend menu on Saturdays and Sundays, and affordable lunch sets are available on Monday to Friday until 4pm. The wine list is rather extensive and I highly recommend consulting their sommelier, who is very knowledgeable and always gives good advice for your budget. Al Faro is a very popular restaurant; be sure to make reservations, especially for a Friday or Saturday night dinner. I've been a loyal customer for years and Al Faro hasn't disappointed. Highly recommended.
