Fairly typical war memorial, notable more for the sweeping views of the Dnipro River and much of Kiev. Worth a stop on the way to/from the Lavra

The Tomb of the Unknown Soldier is quite a sad site, with a war feeling to it... Everything is clean and the message of the bad in war is clear. The good side to this attraction is the fantastic view it offers towards the Dnipro and its other bank. A must see in Kiev...

We walked through this park on the way to the Caves monastery. It's a very simple park but very pretty. There are a number of beautiful monuments dotted around, however as the inscriptions and the signs are all in Ukrainian, I had to research the history behind them upon my return to the hotel (worth doing to understand what you have seen).
The views over Kiev are absolutely stunning and it was lovely to join many of the locals just taking a leisurely stroll through the park.

One of the most famous places to visit in Kyiv is the Park of Eternal Glory. Located very close to Arsenalna Metro Station (the deepest metro station in the world!), it is a site that cannot be missed. This is dedicated to the fallen soldiers of the nation in the "Great Patriotic War" and the actual complex is 9.5 hectares!

In the heart of the park complex is an Obelisk standing 26 metres high and made of dark grey granite. Near this monument is the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. In front of this monument burns the "eternal flame." This gives visitors the same feel of seeing the French equivalent at the Arc du Triomphe in Paris, France
