I was very impressed with this Hotel and its location, I think that some of the rooms were modernised and some were in the process of modernisation at the time of my visit, (2013) so things might have changed !! Unfortunately my room, (even though very good) was next to a building with airconditioning plant in, so could be noisy, (room 518) If you want English programmes on TV then you will be disappointed and I thought that the having no tea/coffee in the room was not so good. Downstairs was a poker room with bar, the prices were by city standards but as the Hotel was at the end of Khreschatyk St it was convenient, and near the metro ! Would stay there again if I got a good deal on price.

Room Tip: avoid rooms at the back of the Hotel near rooms 520 upwards unless you can get a room away from the...

Stayed 2 nights recently and was impressed all round. I took advantage of the airport transfer 330 grevnas and was happy I did. Check in was easy room was great spotlessly clean and view of independence square from balcony was incredible. Bar and restaurant service was excellent, katya spoke English and helped me order dinner which after 30 hours of travel was a huge plus. Location is fantastic walking distance to everywhere and the staff from driver and reception to restaurant and manageresses was great even the housekeepers were polite and professional. I'm back in kiev in.a few weeks and will stay again and easily recommend to anyone

This is an adequate hotel in the city center -- better than some hotels but not one of the most luxurious hotels in the city. The rooms are of a decent size, clean and efficient. The breakfast buffet is a convenient way to start your day -- items varied day to day and it's certainly not extensive but has the basics. There's a casino on site which tends to attract some serious local players but is a good place to exchange money. Internet worked fine. Staff was responsive but not gregarious.

Room Tip: Ask for a room facing the street,

This hotel had all was needed at a very good price - wireless, safe, great service (they responded day and night immediately) and staff with a smile. There is a gambling parlour at the back - which is great because even if you do not gamble, you can get exchange and food 24X7.

We stayed here for a 4 day visit to the beautiful city of Kiev. The location is perfect in it's centrality and convenience to 'down town'. Very large rooms and ensuites and within a short stroll of the now infamous Independence Square, shopping, restaurants and the metro.
We would stay at the Khreschatyk again without hesitation.

I stayed at this hotel two times before in the past 10 months. On the previous trips, I was given the Prestige Rooms which I deemed a positive experience. This time around, I booked a suite which turned out to be much older and worn out than those Prestige rooms. It appeared that they have two wings in that hotel, of which one is refurbished and the other one is not. I had a hard time locating sockets as none were available near the table. The floor is covered with worn out and stained carpeting that had seen better days. Interestingly, my colleague was luckier having received a suite in the refurbished wing which came out much fresher and better designed. The service, as usual, was perfect.

Room Tip: Please ask for a room in the newer wing.

The big argument in favour of this hotel is its city-center location. Step out of the door, turn right, and within seconds you're on Maidan square, with its tents, posters and memorials to those killed in the uprising earlier this year. The metro stop is also right there, and a decent enough chain café right across the street from the hotel, whose own breakfast is nothing to write home about.

Staff are unerringly friendly and knowledgeable, from booking taxis to recommending places for dinner.

Sadly, there are also quite a few ways in which the hotel is lacking, most of which could easily be fixed. The decor of the rooms is quite bleak (heavy grey curtains, black furniture), and the windows in our room were dirty in a way that takes a few weeks to build up.

There's a tea maker but no tea bags, no bottled water provided in the rooms (usually the norm in hotels of this price range and in a city where you're advised against drinking tap water). No slippers and bathrobes (only an issue since their website claimed there would be, so I didn't pack any) and housekeeping is also on the cursory side.

Bottom line: The location still makes this a good pick, just don't expect the same level of comfort you normally would from a hotel that boasts this many stars.
