If you going to Kiev, you shouldn't miss this attraction. This monastery is kind of equivalent of Vatican for Orthodox Christians . And do not miss a trip to caves.

This place is ancient place where you may see old caves and famous churches. I went there many time but this year I was in place where founder of this place got a sign to build Lavra - on the mountain Athos, Greece, Antoniy Pechorskiy got a sign that he should start travel to Kiev and build this place. The great monument of Orthodox culture, for sure it is must see place in Kiev.

Put this visit at the top of your list - the grounds of the monastery are a great joy to wander around, and given the lack of signage pointing to the caves, you probably will be wandering around. When the sun is out you can get some great shots of gold-domed buildings, or if it rains head to the narrow, claustrophobic caves, where everything seems in miniature. Speaking of miniature, don't miss the unique display of micro-miniatures, a collection of the tiniest sculptures you will ever see - through a magnifying glass. And stop to take in one of the packed services to see how the locals practice religion.

An absolute must-see. Larva is a huge complex of churches and a monestry. I've visited it twice, a perfect serene place to wonder around. Don't forget to visit the caves and of course the miniature museum.

Great few hours spent here. Lots of attractions include the miniature museum which I really wanted to see as it's number one of things to see and do in Kiev. Unfortunately for me they take lunch between 13.30 and 14.30 and I had to leave so I didn't get to see this. The walk around was lovely though. You pay 3 HVR to get into the Lavra grounds and then it's 10 or 15 to get into the other various museums. The theatre museum looked interesting. Lots of nice little hut stalls selling souvenirs and Xmas decorations. It's about a 15 to twenty minute walk from Arsenalna Metro Station but is near a beautiful park with fantastic statues and a monument to the unknown soldier. The views from here of the city are absolutely spectacular and it wax a popular spot for married couples. Give yourself an extra half hour to get to Lavra from the Metro as this park is well worth an explore!
