The rooms are quite spacious and very clean, the staff are very nice, polite and helpful (which is not always the case in Ukraine...) I ate at night at the restaurant on the first floor, it offers an array of dishes prepared in a wok style semi oriental cuisine. Good, nice atmosphere. The lobby bar is the place to be, every single VIP moving around Kiev will stop by .

this was my third stay at this Hyatt. She is slipping....first, as Platinum member, I should never be shoved into a lousy, no view room in the bowels of the hotel. Missy Miss at the front desk was NOT customer service oriented. The carpets were worn and dirty and the leather spas in the lobby lounge were better served in a fraternity house...VERY worn and dirty...disgrace.

NEXT..the Spa....those pirates charged me $275 for a men's hair color!!! I did not ask the price because it is typically $50, $75 max. This was outrageous.

This property is consistently the most expensive in Kiev and it is not worth it...by a longshot

As a result of a crazy travel schedule throughout Ukraine, I checked in and out of this hotel three times in two weeks - which meant I gave the front desk six chances to serve me well, and had access to three different rooms.

So this is a top-of-the-line hotel, and one should get superb service - but that is not always the case. At this Hyatt in Ukraine, however, the staff were responsive, polite and always helpful. The amenities in the rooms were complete and flawless (and the bathrooms were magnificent). The breakfast buffet was fantastic, including hot eggs cooked to order, a vast array of breads and pastries, salmon and herring, fruit, etc.

My own complaint, which was not so much about the Hyatt (which handles the situation very well), would be the "rich men with accompanying women" who were not wives, serious girlfriends or other family members. This is a HORROR in Ukraine, and should be a national disgrace. It is tragic for young women who make the choice, finding they do not see other attractive options. As a woman traveling in Ukraine, I was heartsick - and could not avoid it at the Hyatt. But everything was discrete and subtle.

Lastly, the "Bar on Eight", on the 8th floor, does have an exquisite view of the city. And much of the city is right there, at walking distance, with restaurants and Orthodox churches easy to visit.

I have stayed at this hotel over 20 times in the lase few years, I have been made to feel at home, I have never had a problem that was not fixed and the staff are just AMAZING, would never stay in another place when coming to this city

Room Tip: higher floors have a better view of the city

Stayed there for two nights and it is simply a great hotel. Stunning modern building without fuss, great staff that smile and will take care of you. Rooms are a decent size, functional and above all clean, well maintained and clutter free (unlike other hotel chains who bombard you with leaflets and flyers!).

Must try the 'Bar on 8'; fantastic view. The Asian Grill serves a variety of dishes and they have a bunch of Asian Chefs; so the food is authentic and properly seasoned.

The location cannot be better; right in the heart of the city.

Definitely your address when staying in Kiev!

I spent a few nights at the Regency during my visit to this wonderful city earlier this summer and couldn't have been more pleased. The room was very spacious, with a very comfy bed, and high end bed and bath linens and toiletries. Lovely bar and lobby area. And you can't beat the location. Essentially right out the door is St Sophia's Cathedral and if you look the opposite direction, there is St. Michael's Monastary. You are in the Podil district with all that it has to offer. And just a couple of blocks away is the start of the Andriyivskyy Descent; and no stroll around Kiev would be complete without enjoying this street. Kreshchatyk Street is a short walk DOWNHILL (not to worry, you can take the funicular back up). You end up in Independence Square so be sure to continue your stroll down the street to all the shops and the president's residence. I would highly recommend this hotel when you are fortunate enough to be visiting this great city.
