What a wonderful, clean, hospitable place this turned out to be. The place was comfortable, staff pleasant and breakfast was a treat in the mornings. The staff also had plenty of information. The gave me all directions for buses and immigration office.

Stayed here twice unfortunately. First time in a private with bathroom for $20. Room was fine, had aircon but still extremely hot. Staff were not friendly but did make us breakfast before our 7am bus. Second time we had a private with bath but to pay only $20 we couldn't have breakfast. Had a 3am bus and arranged with very rude receptionist to stay in friends room the following night until our taxi arrived at 2. They agreed and we settled on paying $5 extra (friends had already paid for whole night) a few hours later they decided to add another $5, which we paid. At midnight we actually got kicked out, told our bags can stay but we must leave. Even though we had paid and arranged to stay.. slight drama but we kindly closed our door and waited for our taxi hoping we weren't going to be dragged out (we weren't)

We have been to this hostel twice and stayed in 3 different rooms, all of which have been good. They are a bit dingey and hot but we slept fine. The only problems we had were trying to work out how much we had to pay. The receptionist gave us several prices for the same room which depended on use of the kitchen, water and coffee machine, and whether or not breakfast was included. We paid $20 for a double room with fan and no breakfast.
She also demanded original copies of our passports, photocopies wouldn't do, which was a bit annoying and probably unnecessary.
Really good location though!

We came to San Salvador very last minute, and our taxi thankfully took us here when we requested a hostel - and we couldn't have been happier!

The staff there were so warm and welcoming, the rooms are clean and the hostel is equipped with all you need. It also includes a tasty breakfast.

Can't say very much about the location as we only stayed a night before we headed to the coast, but there are many (western) places to eat nearby, its a relatively safe area and taxi rank at the end of the road. There is some information on buses and surrounding areas at the hostel too, and wifi to research anything further.

Would definitely go here if ever in San Salvador again.

Room Tip: The room we were in had no bunks, which is awesome!

This is a wonderful hostel. The staff are so happy, smiley, friendly and helpful, along with the manager - they did everything in their power to ensure we had a great stay.

We walked in and got room number 5 which was perfect for our stay - there is a tv with dvds, a bathroom and even our very own private courtyard!

The breakfasts were delicious and it was handy to have a kitchen to use as there's a big supermarket over at the mall, if you're looking to save some cash and eat in. Free coffee and water was a bonus!

There's also a terrace upstairs that was nice to sit out on in the evening, and plenty of lounge space for sitting around and meeting other travellers.

The hostel felt really safe, and the staff helped us organise taxi's so it made getting around easy enough.

I'd definitely recommend this hostel, and if you can, get room 5!

Room Tip: Room 5 was great - tv, bathroom and your very own private courtyard!

Nearly didn't stay here because of the previous review. So glad we did, totally different experience. Lonely Planet online review says room 5 is one of the best deals in town and they are right, it was $25 for a double with bathroom, TV and own patio area. Breakfast was included and was good, eggs and pancakes. Staff were friendly. We walked in late one evening and got the best room without having to book.

We booked a double room with bathroom a few days earlier by telephone. When we arrived they wanted to give us a double room without bathroom for the same price, 30 dollars. Eventually we worked out it was more because there were 2 beds in the room, even though we wanted a double. They wanted 2 dollars extra if you used the kitchen! The room was super hot and the fan barely worked. The room felt dark and dingy. They said they could make us a sandwich as we left at 6am, too early for breakfast. There was no sandwich ready when we left. The taxi they booked didn¨t show up.We stayed another night in another place which had AC, TV, bathroom and much cleaner for 10 dollars more.
