Definitely worth a visit - the interior is stunning with rainbow coloured stained glass in the arched roof. Don't be put off by what it looks like from the outside!
Initially we went at about 11.30am on a Friday morning and it was closed. A tour guide with a tourist also turned up - so we got the impression that there are no set open times...?
We returned on Sunday morning as we knew it would be open for Sunday service. Not ideal to be a tourist in a church when others are worshipping, but we kept quiet at the back and admired the beauty.

Like no church we have ever seen before. Came once before years ago but it was closed. SO impressed now. History/story also VERY important.

I am usually not a fan of “modern” or “contemporary” churches, I prefer the classic old style cathedrals for my sightseeing. But the Iglesia El Rosaria was stunning! The outside is gray and foreboding, it looks a bit neglected. But the interior space is wide open and beautiful. The walls curve into the ceiling and the stained glass is layered in a very vivid manner. There are traditional icons along with more modern / abstract pieces throughout and they do not clash, they work surprisingly well together. And some of the piece are very powerful. It is only a few blocks from the Cathedral Metropolitana so it is possible to visit both sites together. It is next to Plaza Libertad. I would strongly recommend a visit.

If you ever comes to El Salvador, this church is an absolute must. The ceiling is wonderful and you will completely forget about time wher you enter the church.

WHAT A DELIGHT! When you walk past the outside of the building on either side its quite drab. In fact, it almost looks closed down adorned with liter and only a few worshipers. When you enter however, you are greeted with a beautiful rainbow array of colors as the sunshine hits the colored glass. You can just stand there and stare in awe. It was a delight to meet one of the ladies cleaning the church and get a bit of the history from her. A must see for anyone visiting San Salvador, AND I believe its just a block or two away from another church on the "list of things to do" in San Salvador on trip adviser.
