“Small, but with an interesting array of work”
Reviewed 10 July 2013

Unlike most major museums in most major cities, this one can be seen within a couple of hours.
The range of works is mostly from the beginning of the 20th century to the present day.
The works cover all periods of Salvadorian life from the past centuries, and include many styles, as well as mediums. There are a number of pieces which really do an excellent job telling the story of El Salvador and it's people.

The museum is well laid out, and superbly lit (very important)! There are some larger works outside, as well as a nice restaurant on the side. Parking is free.

I highly recommend a visit to this museum.

“small but interesting”
Reviewed 11 June 2013

They had a great exhibit of local artists as well as an amazing Dali exhibit on Dante! Reaonably priced. The information was all in Spanish, but even with limit language skills we could understand much of the written info. Can't recall the exact price but not expensive at all, a few dollars.

“Small but cheap”
Reviewed 13 March 2013 via mobile

Entrance to the art collection is only $1.50 but the art inside is interesting. When I was there a pop art insulation was presented and 3d glasses were provided which made my visit different to another other art museum I have visited. It is however small so don't plan to spend an entire morning there.

“Small, but great collection”
Reviewed 20 February 2013

I had the museum to myself on the day of my visit, something that may be a turnoff to some, but loved by me as I had a personal visit with the art. The museum is small and only took me a little more than an hour to pass through, but it was well worth it. With a mixture of photography, painting, sculpture, film, and mixed media, there is something for everyone. It is traditional as well as edgy and the quiet, clean atmosphere is the perfect environment in which to appreciate it all.

“Nice, but limited, collection”
Reviewed 29 January 2013

Some nice sculptures out front, nicely presented collections. Based upon our guidebook we were expecting more, especially the art from the wartime years. Nothing wrong with a visit here, just nothing too special. Probably spent less than an hour.
