“Good Food, Good Drinks, Great Service and Location”

But for the love of God, please put some canvases on the walls of the restaurant . Oh, a little music wouldn't hurt either!! I couldn't help feeling like I was sitting in a HOSPITAL ward being fed great food with great smiles and amazing drinks.....but wait HOSPITALS aren't supposed make me feel like that. All am saying is cheer the place up a bit, with a place like Masaya, Granada and Leon I'm pretty certain that art is not far away. The ladies and fellas at this place go above and beyond in a very respectful manner. Our experience was for one night only, thank you Chepita for bringing us back and forth from the hotel in order to get my girls some food in their little bellies.

We have had differing experiences over several years at this hotel, and had felt that it had gradually improved over the years (certainly very convenient for the airport), but this overnight stay was disappointing. We could not get a room with a bathtub (which we have always had in the past), and the shower was very weak and quite cold. Interesting they said that the same rate applies whether you have a modern room with a bathtub or an old, dingy room with an inadequate cool shower. It is also disappointing that the breakfast (from 6:00AM) is hardly open in time for use prior to the early morning (7:15AM) flights. But, all the same, it is very handy for the airport, and we will no doubt return.

Room Tip: If you want a bath tub, make sure you ask when you book.

I agree that the best thing about this hotel is its location right across the street from the airport. Recent reviewers have done a good job describing the standard issue BW rooms, the nice pool and pool-side bar and food service, and good size breakfast buffet (open at 6am). Dinner service poolside can be slow compared to the actual restaurant inside (not too surprising). Lots of North Americans stay here.

Each year my mission work in Nicaragua increases and I always rely on the Best Western, which is right across the street from the airport, to welcome me the night before I leave Nicaragua. I love this country. Everything about it has renewed my faith in God's grace. The people are the first great treasure and this hotel expresses the hospitality of this nation. There is a shuttle to escort you across one of the busiest streets at dawn, which is oftentimes when I leave, so I am never late. The food is good, service friendly, the rooms clean, as everything is designed for your comfort; who could not return?

Room Tip: Not a bad room as it is designed so well.

I've stayed at this hotel half a dozen times when I am flying out of Managua. It's located right across the street from the airport so it's great for early morning flights.

It's an above average hotel for Nicaragua, it's clean, has hot water and a pool. The rooms are not fancy but they are reasonably spacious and simply decorated. They are comfortable, with air-conditioning, a tv and free wifi and have either a king size bed or two double beds. The cost is approximately $100 US, which is high for Nicaragua, although in general I think hotels are more expensive in Managua than the rest of country.

The showers have hot water, although the water pressure leaves a lot to be desired. Hard to rinse the soap out of my hair.

There are two pools to chose from, both are clean. One is larger and has a little poolside bar and lots of chairs for lounging in. The other is smaller, with a few chairs to lounge in. If you are there on Sundays, the pools are open to the public so they are crowded and noisy.

The restaurant serves up decent food, although it's geared towards North American tastes. The morning breakfast buffet is quite good, a lot of choices, including a custom omelet station.

Staff has always been friendly and helpful, although the housekeepers don't necessarily understand the "do not disturb" sign on the door.

Overall, the highlight of the hotel is it's convenience to the airport and it's an oasis in Managua, which is a big, hectic, loud city. Generally, I like to head there and stay a couple nights before leaving. It's a nice treat after touring the country and it sort of prepares you to get back to reality.

I've read others say that the airplanes kept them awake, but that wasn't my experience. You could hear them when around the pool, but they certainly weren't loud enough to be disturbing and in the rooms at night, they didn't keep us awake.

I work for a NGO in Managua. I picked up a volunteer from the airport and we needed to wait an hour to get the bags from an earlier flight. We loaded her luggage in the car, drove across the street to Las Meredes and parked the car where the ARMED SECURITY GUARD told us to park. This was at 1 pm. At the same time, a black Izuzu SUV was parking next to us and they had straddled the line with their car. As we exited our car he was asking them to straighten out into one spot. As they got back into their car, we headed in the restaurant to eat lunch and wait to go back to the airport and get our other volunteers' lost luggage. She turned around and got back in the car to get her wallet and phone and we re-locked the car. We ate lunch and when we came back out and got in the car, ALL HER LUGGAGE WAS GONE! Three suitcases and a backpack. They had busted the lock with something on the passenger side front door. We asked the ARMED SECURITY GUARD what the heck happened and he said he was there the whole time and nothing had happened. WHAT!!! He then asked if we were sure we had the luggage when we got there!?! We requested that the police be called and he called his boss instead. There was a guy there washing his motorcycle in the spot where the black Izuzu was parked. He tried to claim that he was there when we got there, but we confronted his lie and he backed down, and then explained he was an off duty police officer. He also told us someone might call for a ransom. This is interesting, after we just gave him our contact info. We tried to talk with the front desk at the Hotel, but they were no help. We finally called the police on our own and they showed up after a long wait. The guard, his boss, another guard, the police and us went over our stories and the guard still stuck with his story that nothing had happened. I couldn't believe his outright lie. We said to the police, "when we went in we had luggage, we came out, no luggage. Either he stole it, helped steal it, or wasn't doing his job. Only three options!" We then followed the police to the station to fill out a "formal" report. We obliged and spent HOURS at the police station as they asked for our story at least 5 different times. As we could tell the police would be no help, we finally gave up and went back to the hotel to pick up our volunteers who stayed with the guard. We left the hotel and whoever stole the luggage got off unscathed. There is a racket going on in that parking lot with the security guards! She had a backpack stolen that contained her laptop, camera, and passport. Her laptop contained MONTHS of work on a Child Development program for preschoolers in Nicaragua. Her suitcases had second hand clothes to give to the Nicaraguan mothers, flash cards for the children, and coloring books for the preschoolers! They have not only stolen from her, they have robbed their own country's children of a fantastic opportunity. BE AWARE OF THE SECURITY AT THIS HOTEL!!!!!!

This place reminds me of motels along Route 66 in the early 60's. It's across the street from the airport and you can walk to your gate. This also allows you to check in for your flight and walk back to the hotel to have your free breakfast before departure. Rooms were clean, beds were comfortable, and the showers sucked. There really wasn't enough hot water or pressure to get all the soap out of your hair. The meal we had at the restaurant was very good but extremely over priced for Nica standards. All in all, the best selling point for this property is its location.
