Overall, this is an average hotel but probably a top choice for Managua. It was cheap at about $90/day which included a really good breakfast buffet each morning. The room was clean and well kept plus it had wifi for $3/day. There is free wifi in the lobby and bar on site that had some live entertainment on the weekend. The service in the restaurant was a little < overall, as you had to be proactive about asking for more coffee or a refill. The staff overall were very friendly and willing to help when asked.

There are a lot of bars and restaurants within walking distance of the hotel but I didn't go to any of them. They looked like fun but we just went other places since we were on business. I was told by my host that the area is completely safe to walk around to the restaurants and it seemed fine to me.

Overall, a definate recommend in if you're in Managua.

Room Tip: There is an executive floor that also has an executive lounge. One of my friends got upgraded to th...

We stayed at the Hilton on our way to and from the Corn Islands. We were satisfied with the cleanliness and quality of the bed. The room was a typical size. It's about a 20 minute taxi ride from the airport.

However, for $160 per night in Central America, I would expect a functional television (not that I really cared, but still). Additionally, the air conditioning in the gym was broken. It must have been 90-degrees F in there. Since running around Managua is not possible, this was a minor annoyance. The pool is nothing special. The bar seemed pretty quiet. There appears to be a very nice breakfast buffet, but it is not included.

Bottom line: It is safe and clean. But for the location and price, I would have expected a more elegant and luxurious hotel.

After a 10-day trip exploring this beautiful country staying in rustic yet charming accommodations, we opted to stay at our favorite chain hotel, i.e., Hilton, before our early flight back to the US. Hilton accommodations and service are consistent and have always been pleasing and this location was no different. The rooms were spacious, clean, beds comforting, and yes, the AC was welcoming! The staff were very pleasant and accommodating. With all that said, not one person from the front desk clerk, bell clerk, or parking security could provide directions to the airport. There were no maps available or written directions that could be provided. They (staff) simply did not know how to get there Very frustrating.

Recommendation: Hilton have maps and/or written directions to highly visited locations available at front desk. All front desk employees be trained/prepared to assist visitors with directions.

This hotel is of course one of the best in Managua. The rooms are very good and the service is outstanding. Proximity to all places is also key. Only some improvement to be made at the pool, specially when after a tough working day you expect having a swim with a nice fruit juice...and no one shows up!

Room Tip: Pool side are better. The ones with view are noisy.

Had another great stay here, with a lovely poolside party to celebrate Earth Hour. Great location, a nice short walk to many great restaurants and amenities. Thanks Lenner for a perfect ending to our Nica vacation!

Room Tip: I like overlooking the pool.

First, you have to understand that Managua has ZERO tourist infrastructure. Without the Hilton, we would have been completely lost and probably ripped off as a family of gringos, despite having a college-age son who speaks fluent Spanish. Staying here will open the door to the city.
We planned a day in Managua to see the sights after spending spring break in San Juan del Sur. Our room wasn't quite ready when we arrived at noon. The staff apologized with some free drink tickets and and through the hotel's car service, we connected with a friendly driver named William, who managed to show us the Acahualinga footprints, the ruined cathedral, the anti-Somoza monument and the Mirador view of old/new Nicaragua and the crater lake in under two hours! We can't say enough to praise this young man who taught himself English from music videos and TV. Another staffer pointed us in the direction of the nearby shopping mall which was a short walk from the new cathedral. We also managed to find an upscale restaurant area and a fascinating park dedicated to Cuban-Nicaraguan relations, all within walking distance. The room was spacious with all the usual Hilton amenities, including a buffet breakfast served in an upscale wood-paneled atmosphere, a complete contrast with the urban sprawl that is Managua. Yes, it's a bit pricey compared to the rest of Nicaragua but worth it.

Room Tip: We passed a room with a yappy dog, so be sure you don't get the room next door! Our room was on...
