What I definitely liked was the price and the experieince of a local space with local food. You will find this on your way to Granada. It is about 20 minutes outside of Manaugua. They have it all. I ordered the grilled chicken, and sure enough it was a proper half chicken, what a flavour obviously marinated in or roasted with some lime concoction it was tasty to the bone. No sauce or anything on it, so you know it was well prepared and you did not need sauce to bring it up to another level. It was served with some plantain chips, but definitely did not want that. One of my team members ordered a mixed platter and wow, that was a lot of food. The pork sausage was clearly the highlight we all had some of that. Another had a shrimp dish which she thoroughly enjoyed, to the point of not even attempting to share it was any of us. Nice indoor out door feeling a separate area for the smokers. They served locally made fresh juices and ice cold beers.

This restaurant has a nice selection of typical Nicaraguan foods, including local dishes of meat, chicken, sausages, etc. prepared in the local tradition. Also, they include typical sides, i.e. tortillas, plaintain strips, gallo pinto(the national rice & beans dish), nice choices for beverages including local sodas, beers, fruit juices, milk based mixtures such as cacao and several nice desserts. While you can probably find cheaper meals elsewhere, remember that you are also paying for the ambience, such as open seating under a thatched roof, listening to a local marimba player or local musicians that sometimes perform and the overall experience. It is nice, especially for a first time visitor. Locals may not share the same enthusiasm. Definitely worth the visit.

It's a very popular restaurant for the locals. They have two locations, one around kilometer 18 on Masaya and the other on 40 or near there. The one on 18 km is usually full of people in the night. It is cheap for a nicaragua restaurant, prices around C$120, they have good grills.
