“Nice Restaurant and Great Staff”
Reviewed 5 July 2013 via mobile

A little paradise in the center of Managua with a good restaurant - but not the best place for saving money, but you get a lot of quality service for a good price.

The service is helpful and efficient and the garden with the pool is perfect for relaxing after a hot day in a pretty dirty city.

We stayed in Hotel Los Robles one night at the beginning of our Nicaraguan vacation and one at the end, spending very little time in Managua. The hotel was charming and welcoming. Our flight arrived late in the evening and the hotel had a driver waiting for us at the airport. This took all the stress out of figuring out how to get to the hotel and was much appreciated. They even e-mailed a photo of the driver and description of his vehicle which gave us more peace of mind. The room was clean and comfortable, the garden and pool area quiet and restful. The included breakfast was good and offered choices from a menu in addition to a standard fruit and yogurt buffet. It is located within walking distance of many restaurants in a neighborhood in which we felt very safe. I thought the choice of Hotel Los Robles was perfect for our purposes.

Room Tip: I would prefer a room that opens onto the garden courtyard.

We didn't get to see much of the unusual, 'modern' city of Managua (much of which was flattened in the 1972 earthquake), since we had to leave for our flight early the next day. The flight fell on Good Friday, so much was already closed Thursday afternoon since Holy Week is an important holiday in Nicaragua.

We arrived in late afternoon to Hotel Los Robles, situated on a leafy side street in the business and fancier residential district, and found it to be a quietly elegant and friendly place. Our room had a tiny private patio with high walls and inside, good air conditioning and light. The hotel's inner courtyard, with its shady fern and palm garden and outdoor pool, hit the spot upon our arrival, as did our Happy Hour margaritas and Toña beer, with glasses wrapped in hand-crocheted beer cosies. A couple of added features are the hotel's made to order and buffet breakfast, included in the room price, and the hotel's proximity to a stretch of restaurants a few minutes' walk down the street, which cater to business people. If you have time, check out some of the tony residential streets around the hotel since it's a surreal thing to find most of the homes have high walls, iron gates and private security guards.

I'm a huge fan of Nicaragua...I'm not a fan of Managua. Basically cities drive me crazy so when I'm in a city I look for a peaceful place to chill out in. Los Robles was a great place to do so. The staff was friendly and helpful, the rooms were very nice and comfortable, there is a free happy hour!, and the fountain and pool area are wonderful! My plane left at 1:00 AM and the staff let me hang out at the hotel all day, after checkout, while I waited. Very nice place! Also, within walking distance from restaurants.

Spanish Colonial experience in an immaculate family owned and operated hotelito. I have stayed here off and on for over 10 years and will continue to do so. Very likely the best value in Managua and the location is ideal: in the Zona Rosa restaurant area and blocks from the main artery going from Managua to Granada. This is not the nearby Hilton but neither are the tariffs.

I was very pleased. The hotel is very nicely set-up. It's like a traditional Nicaraguan home very elegant, and cozy at the same time. The rooms were very nice and very clean. The breakfast was very good too. I would stay here again. It was a nice expirence.

I travel to Managua around two times a year due to my job. Since I discover this hotel I've been a fast client. It's a small colonial house with nice, quite, big clean rooms and bathrooms. The eating area around the patio with a fountain and birds contributes to the peaceful atmosphere of the place. The staff was very helpful every time I needed something, and the kitchen is local and good. Breakfast are very complete. It is located in an area with many restaurants and a big mall.
