“Nice but far from 'international' standard”
Reviewed 6 July 2014 via mobile

First the good: it's quiet, and they offer a free airport transfer. It has aircon and international tv channels. The room is comfy and the receptionist friendly. It has a restaurant onsite, which you'll need if you're travelling without a car as it's not really walkable to anywhere. There's a nice small pool.

The bad: yes, it has wifi - but it doesn't reach all the rooms - so I'm without wifi unless I sit in the sun/in the restaurant. Lots of confusion at checkin over the price and whether or not a deposit had been paid (luckily I'd printed the details from booking.com, but it took 20 mins and three calls to the boss to get it sorted out - I'm glad I speak good spanish!) The restaurant has white wine but seemingly don't know it's supposed to be chilled - a small detail, perhaps, but when it costs as much for a glass as a meal does elsewhere in Nica, such details matter).

This is a reasonable place to stay if you're connecting thru Managua, but for US$70+, which goes a very long way in Nicaragua, they could do better.

We spent the first night of our holiday at this hotel. We had pre booked your room directly with the hotel and received a better rate than using booking sites. The cost of our room included transfer from the airport and our driver was waiting when we arrived. The accommodations were more than adequate with a nice big bed and a large (room for 2) shower with hot water. There was a flat screen tv and ac. Our room was on the ground level and had a little private patio. The common area and pool are very trendy looking and more important, clean! In fact the entire facility was nice and clean and well kept.

The room price included breakfast which was excellent! There was a a nice selection of fresh food, including omelettes, fruit, and bacon. We were disappointed that the restaurant was not open for dinner the night we were there, but we were able to find a good place to eat close by. Go right from the main entrance and then take a right again at the first street. Go down about 100m and cross the street. The restaurant looks a bit sketchy but the food was good, beer was cheap and cold, and service was friendly!

The staff were very friendly and helpful. They provided drink service at the pool and were more than happy to answer any questions they could to assist with our travel plans. They even gave us a free ride to the local bus station for our transfer to Grenada.

We would definitely recommend this hotel.

Very nice, spotless and quiet hotel. We felt very safe here and the hotel staff is very helpful. Good wifi and airport transportation is a plus. They let us store a few things while we were over on Corn Island for no extra charge. Would definitely stay here again!

Gorgeous hotel with private and quiet outdoor pool set in fountained courtyard with a restaurant. Really effective air conditioning with huge beds and lovely 100% cotton sheets. Staff are hugely helpful and the hotel offers free airport and bus station transfers (more than most similar and more expensive hotels). Hot showers, hair dryers and 3 minutes from a safe shopping mall with good restaurants, a safe haven in somewhat dubious Managua. Incredibly good value for a lovely place.

Room Tip: The master suite is well worth it, spacious set of rooms with a wonderful hot walk in shower and an...

This is a new hotel. It is very nice. Well built and anyone would be really comfortable here. I felt like I was here on some important business when I stayed at this hotel. Although I was not here on business, let alone anything important. Great staff, picked me up at the airport. They even had one of those signs with my name on it. A first for me. Free transport to the hotel in a nice ac van. I was the only passenger so I sat up front and the driver gave me a brief tour on the way and told me all of the main street names which really helped later. Hotel is close to zona hippo which is the nice laid back upper middle class bar scene. It is also close to galleria santa domingo which is an upscale open air shopping mall. The guy who works overnight is Juan, he is very helpful and friendly. Great place, great location, great people.

PROs: Very nice and new hotel, slightly outside the busy centre of Managua, right next to the shopping mall 'Las Galerias'. The hotel is designed with passion, is not too big and offers an inside sitting area and a nice cozy/clean swimming pool. If you don't wanna go elsewhere, take a taxi in the evening to the shopping mall 'Las Galerias? for about 3 USD per way, where you can find many shops, but also a nice restaurant/bar area, where meet the expats and mid class people after work. The rooms are spacious and offer a lot of luxury details for he price. Modern TV, private terrace, powerful airconditioning and a really cool bathroom!! It has a perfect location. We used it as a base for a trip to the Corn Islands. But its low distance to the airport and the free shuttle service to there and from there back to the hotel, makes it also perfect for your first or last night(s) in Nicaragua at all. The staff is brilliantly nice, speaks Spanish and English fluent and is just really, really helpful. There is free onsite secure parking in front of the entrance, having an armed guard 24 hours. For the price you find modern, clean rooms/facilities with more luxury than you need, including the perfect staff. You won't be disappointed. Promise.

CONs: There is nothing I did not like.

We stayed at the Wayak for several nights in February and were pleasantly surprised with both the staff and the hotel. The price was very reasonable, the rooms beautiful and clean, the food very good. It has a beautiful pool, a beautiful courtyard, and is a lovely oasis in the middle of the city.
We will definitely stay at the Wayak again on our next trip to Nicaragua.
