“Beautiful but never again”
Reviewed 3 August 2014 via mobile

We stayed in Wayak hotel after arriving in Managua. The airport shuttle was well organized. Our room was very spacious and clean. The service was great and very friendly. Because we had to return to Managua some days later we decided to book Wayak again as we did also for the night before our return flight.
One and a half day before we would go to Managua we got a mail from the hotel they had a serious problem with the rooms and the have had to cancel some bookings BUT we still could use their terrace and swimmingpool and could enjoy a free dinner ??!!
As we already made some appointments starting from the hotel I wrote a mail asking if they had another room for us. As I didn't receive an answer I made a phonecall but the connection was interrumpted by the one who answered the phone. I tried to call back but got the voicemail. After sending another mail to the hotel with cc to booking.com I received a mail saying they were very sorry.
As you can imagine we cancelled the other reservations ourselves.
Imagine how you feel when they tell you your reservation is cancelled arriving after a long flight ...
The hotel is perfect, personnel friendly but cancellation policy???I assume it was because we booked by booking.com and the hotel earns less this way then if someone makes a reservation at the hotel website.

The hotel service & staff are superb. I debated as to whether or not stay at this hotel but I am glad that I did. The rooms are very spacious, clean, and modern. You feel as if you are in an apartment rather than a hotel. There are only twelve rooms; therefore the staff & the other guests get to know you well. The breakfast was a bonus & the airport transportation was great! You cannot beat this hotel. Daniele was wonderful along with Juan, Valeria, and Kadeling! Thank you for making my stay in Nicaragua pleasant.

We spent one night here on our way to the Pacific Coast.
Free airport pick-up: girl with welcome sign just outside of exit walked us straight to waiting van - forgot about the smiling locals that grab bags out of your hands and then expect a tip - hold on tight if you are the stingy type!
Warm welcome at hotel and shown to room immediately - after resting for 30 mins we hit the sparkling pool - cool relief!
Enquired at front desk as to best things to do in Managua (not a lot): $30-40 cordoba cab ride to city (15-30 mins depending on traffic). We walked to a nearby Mall (10-15 mins) and corner store (2 mins) - out of front door and LEFT. Use the over road pedestrian bridge for a safe crossing to the mall. A guest suggested a trip to the waterfront, which reportedly has had a $2 million upgrade - nobody else seemed to know about this so we didn't venture into the city.
Buy liquor at corner store (adjacent to Subway restaurant) and change money if moving onto a more rural destination.
Cleanliness, customer care, facilities were excellent. Beds comfy. Food was tasty & plentiful. Service outstanding. Staff went out of the way to make us feel comfortable and answer all our questions.
Confusion at checkout over payment as staff charged full amount ...Booking.com clearly stated on reservation day that 50% would be charged to the credit card used to secure booking, so i assumed 50% had already been charged - a few minutes to confirm through our online banking and all sorted.

First the good: it's quiet, and they offer a free airport transfer. It has aircon and international tv channels. The room is comfy and the receptionist friendly. It has a restaurant onsite, which you'll need if you're travelling without a car as it's not really walkable to anywhere. There's a nice small pool.

The bad: yes, it has wifi - but it doesn't reach all the rooms - so I'm without wifi unless I sit in the sun/in the restaurant. Lots of confusion at checkin over the price and whether or not a deposit had been paid (luckily I'd printed the details from booking.com, but it took 20 mins and three calls to the boss to get it sorted out - I'm glad I speak good spanish!) The restaurant has white wine but seemingly don't know it's supposed to be chilled - a small detail, perhaps, but when it costs as much for a glass as a meal does elsewhere in Nica, such details matter).

This is a reasonable place to stay if you're connecting thru Managua, but for US$70+, which goes a very long way in Nicaragua, they could do better.

We spent the first night of our holiday at this hotel. We had pre booked your room directly with the hotel and received a better rate than using booking sites. The cost of our room included transfer from the airport and our driver was waiting when we arrived. The accommodations were more than adequate with a nice big bed and a large (room for 2) shower with hot water. There was a flat screen tv and ac. Our room was on the ground level and had a little private patio. The common area and pool are very trendy looking and more important, clean! In fact the entire facility was nice and clean and well kept.

The room price included breakfast which was excellent! There was a a nice selection of fresh food, including omelettes, fruit, and bacon. We were disappointed that the restaurant was not open for dinner the night we were there, but we were able to find a good place to eat close by. Go right from the main entrance and then take a right again at the first street. Go down about 100m and cross the street. The restaurant looks a bit sketchy but the food was good, beer was cheap and cold, and service was friendly!

The staff were very friendly and helpful. They provided drink service at the pool and were more than happy to answer any questions they could to assist with our travel plans. They even gave us a free ride to the local bus station for our transfer to Grenada.

We would definitely recommend this hotel.

Very nice, spotless and quiet hotel. We felt very safe here and the hotel staff is very helpful. Good wifi and airport transportation is a plus. They let us store a few things while we were over on Corn Island for no extra charge. Would definitely stay here again!
