This a small restaurant tucked away in Casco Viejo. We were 2, menu in appetizers is very limited. Food is very average, everything lacked salt n taste. Will never go back. Oh the sangria was good, but that's it! :(

We visited Mostaza for dinner with two families. The food was ok, nothing special but a decent dinner in a nice atmosphere.
When we asked for the check, we were surprised to see, that the actual bill was around 15 USD lower than the credit card slip. Mostaza is adding 10% to your bill as "Propina" (tip) without even telling you. Whilst many restaurants in Panama add a "Propina sugerida" (suggested tip) to their bill, which you may or may not pay, Mostaza has gone a step further and is hiding these unjustified charges from your bill, but putting them on the slip. Obviously some people don't compare and sign, otherwise this practice wouldn't exist.
We felt cheated. Definitely our last visit.

I have been to Mostaza many times and never disappointed. The service is very good and the food even better. There is a variety of seafood, meat and other dishes. Their bread and appetizers are excellent. I would highly recommend this restaurant for those looking for excellent food in a more quiet setting.

Ate here with a big group on a busy Saturday night. Waiters were able to set up a large table for us outside. The setting was fantastic, just outside the beautiful ruin of Iglesia Santo Domingo. They had a nice selection of reasonably-priced wines and service was very friendly.

The food was largely very good. We tried several different starters which were modest but still good for sharing. for the main dishes, the meats seemed to outperform the fish. For the fish, it seemed like many of the sauces were cream-based, which wasn't mentioned on the menu. Be sure to ask your server so you know what you're in for.

Overall it was a really nice way to spend an evening. The atmosphere inside also looked very comfortable and there was live music. Definitely the best meal I had in Casco.
