After staying 3 nights at Dos Palmitos, we feel such affinity for Cerro Ancon! What a wonderful base for exploring the city---green, quiet, and interesting! The accommodations at Dos Palmitos are comfortable, clean and inviting. The breakfasts, including plentiful fresh fruit, homemade yogurt and other goodies, were enjoyed on an outdoor balcony with beautiful birds nearby. Host Angéline's choice of taxi drivers and recommendations were very helpful.

Dos Palmitos is a lovely place to stay. It has a relaxed atmosphere and great service. The part of Panama city is very quiet but you can still walk easily to the centre of town and Casco Viejo. I would recommend this place. Great breakfast too.

All 4 rooms were occupied - and we all became a family - visiting with each other in the large lounge each evening, giving tips and sharing our day's travels which was great fun. Enjoyed the balcony for great breakfasts, and viewing birds on their feeder. Appreciated a "to-go" bag breakfast when I went out birding. Angelina also offered a helpful service to arrange for taxis when we needed them. Easy to get to Casco Viejo via taxi, and easy walking distance to a delightful "Country Store" (store and a restaurant with an outdoor covered viewing dining area to view wildlife; it had good quality, reasonably-priced meals). A group of us had pizza and lasagna delivered to our B&B, thanks to Angelina's help. Dos Palmitos is located in a quiet neighborhood, at base of Ancon Hill, making it convenient to walk to the excellent vistas and a viewpoint of the Panama Canal and city from the top of Ancon Hill; easy walk to the Smithsonian Institute and only a $3 taxi ride away from Metropolitan Park..

Its hard to add to whats already been said, its all true! What I can add is that its a wonderful place for morning or evening walks! Before or after your fresh, scrumptious breakfast you can walk up to the top of Ancon Hill, walk around Quarry Heights....the entire area is beautiful and filled with houses from the Canal Zone era, a treat to see!
If you're walkers you can walk to Casco Viejo, we also walked to the Balboa area (another Canal Zone area) and walk thru Ancon Hill to Mi Pueblito, but the bus is just 2 blocks away and Angeline will set up a taxi for you, our favorite was Carlos!
As mentioned before this is a residential area, only one restaurant in neighborhood and they close at 6pm. If arriving later, prepare ahead or be prepared to take Taxi out somewhere.
Angeline is truly the most attentive Hostess you'll ever meet, she is there for anything you could request (she does not make lunch or dinner, but her breakfast will fill you up thru lunch if you like).
The truth is, you're in a tranquil neighborhood in the middle of a big city!
We truly enjoyed our stay there!

We couldn’t have chosen a better place to stay for our Christmas holiday than Dos Palmitos. We were greeted by proprietor Angeline at almost midnight on the day of our arrival, and she was available for advice, suggestions, and scheduling from then on until the morning we left. It took a day or two for it to sink in that the pampering was included with the room, and we were going to enjoy the concierge service of a five star hotel for the modest price that we were paying, with the added bonus of the warm atmosphere of a B&B. Angeline had already reserved two tours for us prior to our arrival (pre-arranged by email), and she quickly arranged a canal tour for us after we arrived. We soon learned that every time we left the B&B, Angeline would call a taxi for us from one of her long list of dependable drivers. That alone was enough to spoil us.

Then there was the food. Every morning we would arise to find homemade yogurt in the guest refrigerator, orange juice and wonderful Panamian coffee on the counter. We would walk out onto the deck to find a bowl of luscious fresh fruit, sweet pineapple, watermelon wedges, papaya, and heavenly bananas. Angeline would then appear with any of a variety of empanadas, banana pancakes, and other treats. After we had eaten this fabulous breakfast, she would ask if we wanted eggs or anything else. All this while we were watching exotic crimson red and pastel blue birds fly in and out of the garden while feeding from her birdfeeder. Idyllic.

On the days that we had to arise before dawn to catch a ride to one of our tours, we would find yogurt, juice and coffee in the kitchen and breakfast sandwiches, packed for us to take with us. When we straggled back to Dos Palmitos after a long, hot day of touring, Angeline would greet us as we opened the gate, ask about our day, and listen as we excitedly told about the day's discoveries.

Dos Palmitos is located in the very green and quiet Ancon Hill section of Panama City, originally the American section of the canal zone. There are four rooms opening onto a central sitting area, with guest kitchen access just off the main area. The rooms are air conditioned and immaculately clean (the sheets are crisply ironed). The bathrooms are pristine which is quite a feat in such a humid climate. During our stay we shared the common space with a Swiss family, a Dutch couple, a French couple, and a Canadian lady, and enjoyed exchanging travel notes with them and learning about their experiences in Panama and beyond.

I can say without hesitation that finding Dos Palmitos and Angeline made our trip a huge success. She was our facilitator, removing the hassles of navigating a new city, eliminating the bad choices, and offering just what we had come to Panama for –time to relax and explore another culture. If only we could find an Angeline and a Dos Palmitos on every trip! Thank you, Angeline, you doubled the enjoyment of our trip.

We were recommended by friends in Panama about this B&B. At arrival we were welcomed by Angeline and felt at home right away! What a nice place, comfortable rooms, very good location and outstanding breakfast. They were very helpful with good suggestions for sightseeing, restaurants and tourist must see locations! We had such a wonderful time and highly recommend this very charming guest house!!

Thank you so much for everthing, we will be back soon!!

Dos Palmitos is an excellent choice for your stay in Panama City. It is located in the former Canal administration area which is extremely green and tranquil. It is a great location to access all of the top attractions in the city either via cab or bus. It is also quite close to the large Albrook mall and bus terminal. Since the neighborhood is mostly residential, there aren't really a lot of amenities within walking distance. The owner Angeline will look after your every need and help you arrange anything in Panama City or for excursions outside the city. Her breakfasts are delicious and feature fresh fruit, yogurt (my favorite!), and hot dishes such as pancakes, eggs, or french toast. The rooms are cleaned daily and there is a comfortable seating area and small kitchen. I originally booked a 5 night stay at Dos Palmitos and ended up staying over 2 weeks. A great choice!
