“Golf until you drop in the Rainforest!!”
Reviewed 12 June 2013

Outside of Panama City is this jewel of a hotel nestled in the Rainforest. We wanted to get away from it all and play as much golf as possible and if you book the 'All-You-Can-Golf' package, well you can play from dawn to dusk! They really mean, all you can play! The course is great and challenging, everyone from the golf pro shop to the starter, are very helpful, friendly and accommodating (ie if Tee 1 is busy, they will slip you to Tee 10). The grounds people are out every day and everywhere keeping the greens up to shape! Warning, it is very hot in mid-day, so our schedule was golf 9 at 6am, have breakfast (a great buffet breakfast is provided), go back out for 9, come back in for a swim in their stunning infinity pool, a cocktail, some lunch, then around 2:30 head back out for another round between 9 to 18.
As well, the rooms are great facing the rainforest (pool side can be noisy), we had a Tripadvisor upgrade to a suite and they are Fantastic!! The food was good, staff friendly, prices reasonable...we didn't leave the place for 3 days and are planning to come back for another secluded golf holiday!

Room Tip: Go to the Rainforest/Golf view and if possible, try a suite!

Last weekend our family spent 2 evenings at the Radisson Summit and purchased the all-inclusive package. Our children, ages 10 and 8, enjoyed the pool and the small kids club area, which is equipped with a Nintendo Wii, and air hockey table and a few infant toys. There is no supervision to leave smaller children in the kids club alone.

We were very pleased with our room - quite spacious and the beds were very comfortable. Central Air conditioning in the room, with personal temperature controls were convenient and easy to use. Free WiFi was a wonderful plus, as in many all-inclusives this is an extra charge in the actual room.

The food was good - not excellent. There is a buffet that is offered, with about 4-5 entrees offered, a salad bar with different pre-made salads, breads and a selection of a few desserts. One night was a low census night, and the buffet was not offered for dinner, but a menu a la carte - this evening was excellent food, because it was prepared fresh. The breakfast was very good - with an omelette station to make fresh eggs. The snack time from 3-5PM offered a good variety of freshly made snacks, ranging from nachos to quesadillas - very large and very tasty portions! This was helpful, in allowing us to go to a later dinner, holding the kids over for the afternoon.

This hotel is situated outside of the city, and perfect for relaxing, if that is what you are looking for. It does not offer a ton of activities outside of swimming or playing golf, but there is a free shuttle to Albrook, a large mall that is about 20 minutes away. My family enjoyed the time that we spent there - so much that my daughter did not want to leave.

Also of note - the staff at Radisson was the best service oriented staff that I have encountered in Panama City. Always helpful and often calling us by name, they looked to make sure that we were comfortable and all of our needs were met.

Room Tip: Our room was facing the parking lot, but there are rooms that face the rain forest - ask for a room...

Radisson Summit Hotel And Golf is a great option for those who do not mind staying outside the Downtown area. Actually - far away (around 20 min drive) from the center of Panama City. Property is new, modern and quiet, located in the middle of the beautiful rain-forest. Panama Canal & Locks are close, so this location helps to avoid morning traffic when driving to the most famous place of this country (and mind - traffic in Panama City is usually horrible). Hotel has nice outdoor pool, great views (romantic sunsets etc), decent restaurant serving delicious octopus ceviche and great breakfast in the morning. Staff in nice, helpful and absolutely professional. As far as I saw they have shuttle bus to main attractions nearby (not the airport shuttle). I would recommend this place to anyone who doesn't like nightlife, traffic, city noise and all that jazz.

The setting and location of this hotel are gorgeous! The facilities are modern and immaculate. The pool is great. The staff is extremely professional, helpful and friendly. The views from this hotel are absolutely stunning. The hotel is very close to wonderful Lake Gatun, the zoo and a fantastic mall (sounds like something you might not want to do in Panama, but the food was good there. Lots of variety and reasonable prices.) Breakfast was very good and included an omelette bar (included in the price of the hotel. A great deal!) The only negative was that dinner wasn't very good. Other than that, I give this hotel a 10.

Stayed at this hotel for 3 nights late April to take advantage of the golf facilities. Was not disapointed and especially pleased with the service at the Hotel reception, Carlos was very helpful and customer oriented and at the Pro Shop, Nereida the Manager is a class act.

This hotel is a bit out of the way from the City but sits in a gorgeous park, with a great pool area. The value for the money was unbeatable. KUdos to the staff keep it up. Will see you again

If you are looking for a quiet, new hotel, then this is the spot. The Radisson has its own golf course, two swimming pools, great breakfast spread. It has trails through the rainforest and the view from the balcony was amazing. The hotel is a bit out of the city so you'll probably need a car. The staff was friendly.

I am glad that we picked this hotel, since it offers a Very different experience from hotels downtown. This upscale, modern resort is located in a beautiful, remote wooded area. The seclusion is great for feeling close to nature, without being too far from the City. The Canal is very close, as is the State Park.
The rooms themselves are extremely nice: Oversized with plenty of room, comfortable beds, modern decor, and a spacious bathroom! Just be sure to ask for one on the side that faces the forest, and enjoy an awesome wooded Mountain view, and hear the animals at night. The hallways, and Lobby were always clean and well maintained. The weight-room is small, but adequate. Two pools offer the choice of cold or heated water, and there are free foosball and billiard tables to use. The restaurants onsite were Very reasonably priced and offered great food, albeit a limited selection. Even if you don't play golf, go learn how to hit balls on the driving range...It was very cheap!!
Despite some of the negative reviews, the customer service here was Very good. Carlos, the doorman, was so awesome to us. He even gave us a tour of the resort. The other Carlos (from Chicago) who works the tour desk was also very helpful in making plans for the few days we were there. The one woman (young, long brown hair and glasses) at check-in was also sooooo nice and always asked us how we were doing. Another great staffer, Wiler, even drove us to the Mall to do the amphibious City tour (which I recommend). They were all really great at the reception area. I do have to confess, however, that several of the waitresses in the restaurant were less than friendly and seemed annoyed. The majority of the wait staff was pleasant. The free breakfast was delicious and varied!
I would DEFINITELY come here again, and would recommend that people stay here a few days, then pick a hotel downtown for a varied experience (I will review our other hotel separately). Language can be problematic, but my Spanish is good so it wasn't for Us. I recommend bringing a phrase book/dictionary for those that don't speak Spanish, even though most staff can communicate in varying degrees of English.
Warning: You can take a beautiful Hike in the forest on the property, and go an hour or more. Just beware the Poisonous snakes that lurk. The staff was very concerned when they learned we were out on our own, since Canadians had been attacked and hospitalized only the day before.
Our stay was from 4/23 - 4/26/13
