Owner description: Panama Marine Adventures is the leader tour operator in Panama Canal Tours aboard the MV Pacific Queen. We offer two options to experience the Panama Canal and its history up close. The Partial Transit tour has a duration of 4 to 5 hours. It goes through the Miraflores and Pedro Miguel Locks, underneath the Bridge of the Americas and Centennial Bridge and Gaillard Cut. The Full Transit tour has a duration of 8 to 9 hours. You will transit through the three set of locks: Miraflores, Pedro Miguel and Gatun Locks, commencing in Pacific Ocean and ending in the Atlantic Ocean. In both options you will observe some of the works that are being held for the Canal's expansion.

“Great option for partial transfer”
Reviewed 6 December 2013

This organization provided us with an easy, well-run partial transfer of the canal. The boat was clean and well air conditioned inside, had an overhead cover to protect from elements on upper deck. Good food, unlimited soda/water, good guide. Everything was on time.

“A pleasure”
Reviewed 10 September 2013

I did a partial transit through the Canal on the Pacific Queen. The boat left Flamenco Island at 9:15 am and circled around the causeway enabling fantastic views of both the Panama City Skyline and Amador Causeway. The tour was very informative and was in both English and Spanish. There were several decks to view the canal through, some enclosed and air-conditioned and others open.

There is also a souvenir shop on board and you are able to have your picture taken and placed on a certificate stating that you travelled through the Panama Canal.

Lunch is included in the cost of the ticket as well as tea, coffee and water.

“Very Good Day.”
Reviewed 22 August 2013

We did the full transit on the Pacific Queen and loved it. You check in at 7am and the boat leaves around 8am. A basic breakfast is served either at or just as you are leaving the dock. The narrator was good and gave lots of information both in English and Spanish.

The boat has covered and uncovered areas on the top deck plus air conditioning down below. Throughout the day lunch and snacks are served and there are other items and beer available for sale. A gift shop is on board with a few things. It can be busy on the boat that holds as many as 275 but our trip had 160 or so one person told us.

We got to the dock on the Caribbean side around 4pm and were back on the Pacific side via bus just after 5pm.

It's a long day out but worth it! Cost should be US $180 but I have seen higher prices on other booking web sites.

“The advantages of a small tour”
Reviewed 13 August 2013

I had always thought you had to transit the Panama Canal on large cruise ships (at sky high prices). Not the case. Panama Marine Adventures provided an exciting, comfortable, and informative transit through the canal. To be a smaller ship allows you to be at ground level (or below when in the bottom of the locks) to truly appreciate this extraordinary engineering marvel.

The crew was outstanding, the food and beverages kept you fed and happy, and the return transportation from Colon was on large, tourist class, air conditioned buses.

This is the way to have this once in a lifetime experience at an affordable price, and spending only one full day.

I would recommend this cruise to everyone who has ever wanted to experience the Panama Canal.

“Exciting Tour”
Reviewed 21 July 2013

We made a partial transit southbound. The bus to Gamboa dock on Gatun Lake was old, but it's only a 45 minute ride. The narrator was excellent and spoke English perfectly. The lunch was quite good and very efficient (we ate while in a lock chamber).Best views are from outside, but there is plenty of air conditioned space as well.
