Recently went with Luis from Lumo Tours to Contadora Island to look for whales. What an adventure. Had been whale watching in New Zealand where they used sonars and other sophisticated technology to locate whales. After taking a ferry from Panama City we immediately boarded a small motor boat and went whaling. Bit antiquated methodology. The guide said whales had been seen at 6am that morning (about 6 or 7 hours earlier) a short ways away. Away we went. No whales, but our guides were in contact with other "whalers" by cell phone and soon we were notified that whales were sighted and off we went. Success. Kinda like whaling in early days using small boats when they sighted and then shouted "There she blows". We followed a mother and her calf for about an hour, constantly fascinated by their diving and then re-appearing somewhere else. One time they appeared quite close to our boat. WOW!! A bit expensive but certainly worth it for one time. Difficult geting pictures but we did get a few keepers. After seeing the whales we landed at Contadora Island for great lunch and some beach time. Should mention that our guide Luis was great.

From the moment my girlfriend and I met Anne we knew it was going to be a good trip. She has an unmistakable deep connection with the ocean wildlife, and a passionate desire to share the beauty of whales and dolphins with everyone. Im convinced that even if she wasnt sharring this amazing experience with others, she would still be out there her self. That is the kind of tour guide you want!
Getting in the water with a pod of wild dolphins was a breathtaking and spiritual experience that we will never forget.
The whole trip was an amazing. The boat captain was excellent, the driver was very hospitable, and the service for us as customers was outstanding.
Cannot WAIT to come back!

My husband and I shared a most amazing day with Anne and several friends as we traveled to the Pearl Islands looking for whales and dolphins. And we were not disappointed in our trip. Within 20 minutes of leaving the Panama Canal we saw the massive humpback whales. We actually did more than just watch - we learned a lot about their behavior as well. A little further out we spotted the playful dolphins. These incredible mammals seemed to recognize Anne's passion for sharing their world with us and quickly approached our boat, entertaining us with their many antics. The more we "oohed" and "aahed" the more they put on a show. It was such a rewarding day. Anne is so knowledgeable and respectful of the whales and dolphins, which are major reasons to take this trip with her. The boat we traveled in was extremely comfortable, being equipped with drinks, snacks, snorkel equipment and a small bathroom. This is the kind of trip every visitor, and resident of Panama, should include on their "must do" list. This is a very different world beyond the Panama Canal that must be experienced.

Friends of ours told us about Whale Watching Panama and insisted that if we were going to go whale watching in Panama we had to go with Whale Watching Panama and Anne Gordon. We liked it so much we've been twice and plan to go for a third trip. Absolutely the BEST!

Anne is very knowledgable regarding the humpback whales that visit the Pearl Islands near Panama City, Panama. As you head out in the morning for this day long trip, she starts tell you all about the whales. By the time you see the first one you are really pumped up and know what to expect.

On our first trip to the Pearl Islands we saw more whales than we had seen on whale watching trips to Newfoundland, Hawaii, Alaska, California, Mexico and Oregon combined. After the first ten, which we saw by 10:30am, we quit counting. When we were returning to the Panama City docks we were followed by a school of dolphins that played in our wake and entertained everyone.

This was a fantastic experience and we're looking forward to doing it again.

I took my husband on a whale watching day tour out of Contadora with Anne aboard a catamaran. We saw numerous whales close by and loved listening to them singing - something so magical about hearing their songs. We particularly enjoyed having Anne to answer all of our many questions about why the whales are in the Pearl Island Archipelago, where they come from and where do they go. I would have liked to do a 5 night trip and will do one in the future so we can enjoy staying on board the boat, snorkeling, swimming and relaxing. It is a wonderful way to get away from it all. We also thoroughly enjoyed the meal that was included.
