We chose room 2A based on our phone conversation with the proprietor about noise. This was a quiet, middle-of-the-inn room for three with a private bath. The Saturday night locals partying in the street outside did not disturb us. We could only hear them from the bathroom, which is not air conditioned and has an open window. Clean and comfortable, good air conditioning for sleeping, large enough. We spent three nights in Panama City and found this to be a very convenient location for touristing. The staff was very helpful and friendly. The hostel clients mostly hung out in the lounge watching the World Cup. The Inn itself is very charming, and we would stay there again.

Room Tip: Second floor is quietest. No view, but just walk outside and you're in the midst of charming Casco Viejo.

A an excellent place to stay, rooms were lovely and staff were very helpful and pleasant! Great location in the heart of things, plus we had a nice view from the shared balcony at the front of our room. I would stay there again!

Booked Magnolia Inn not knowing what to expect but was truly delighted. Magnolia Inn is both a hostel and hotel and I was able to stay in both the dorms and the private rooms. The hostel is affordably priced, has A/C, lockers for each bed and is in a great location. The hotel room was pure luxury after staying in hostels for a week. We had the King suite on the top floor. It had great views of the city, a fridge, seating area, coffee maker and a huge, comfortable bed. Honestly, if you have the funds, book the hotel. The one thing that always sets places apart for the rest is the hospitality. Reggie was very knowledgeable and helpful during our stay. I will definitely be back again.

We stayed in a private room on the top floor. Large, clean room with plenty of counter/desk space and a coffee maker. Large bathroom. The king bed was uncomfortable, like a stack of cardboard. The party revelers went well into the wee hours of the morning; loud music, whistlers, drumbeats, laughter and squealing (after all, it was Thursday). It got fairly quiet at about 5:00am. But the room was very private and I really like the hotel overall. The architecture is authentic and it has a warm and welcoming appeal. The view over the rooftops and the city skyline was cool. And the location in Casco Viejo is great. The owners were pleasant and helpful however they did say there was great, inexpensive scuba diving in Boca Chica but since there is pretty much NOTHING in Boca Chica I think they meant Boca del Torres :) They told us about a great restaurant we really enjoyed, The Finca del Mar. Other guests were pleasant. It is a Panama experience. I'd stay here again.

It's a very clean place with helpfull people and nice rooms. A lot of places say that they have warm water in the shower but it's not very true most of the time. Magnolia Inn has real warm water which was a relief after three month of cold showering. Everything in this hostel is very modern. The complete opposite of hospedaje casco viejo
