Niko's Cafe is a large restaurant chain in Panama. Most of it's locations are open 24-hours a day. It's really hit or miss on whether or not you'll get a good meal on any given visit.
I used to only eat the sandwich meals here, until they served me old meat, with a bad smell and rubber-like texture, in a club sandwich I ordered. That one experience was enough to put me off from eating any other sandwich from this place, which contains meat.
The regular meals are ordered cafeteria style. In other words, you pick and choose what you want from large trays, and the server will add it to your plate. Like I mentioned earlier, it's hit or miss on whether or not you'll get a good meal on any given visit. There's some level of consistency in terms of the quality of non-meat food items. I say some level, because the taste is usually the same, but you can't always count on these items being fresh.
Regarding meat food items, you'll find that the quality is more consistently mediocre than good. I've had the turkey breast about 4 times, and on three occasions the turkey was room temperature, very dry, and hard. The only good meat food item I've had here was the honey glazed ham, which was surprisingly tasty.
The only reason I continue to eat here from time-to-time, is because of the convenience of being available 24-hours a day. Every time I visit, I worry if I'm going to get a good meal that day or not.
