We boarded the bus at a hotel in the city center at 9:25. We wanted an open-air overview and eventually to enjoy the Causeway since we had been to some of the other destinations. There is only one place (The Multicentro) where the two tours meet. It took quite awhile to get to the meeting point and then that bus was late. Next we had a flat tire and another long wait; of course things like this happen. The Gehry Biodiversity Museum on the Causeway is a designated stop but since it's not open yet, they don't stop. So we walked there from the end of the Causeway to view the architecture and had to flag the bus down, waving our brochure for it to stop, to get back. The tour is for 24 hours (?) but in order to get back to a hotel on the city tour, you need to return to the meeting place by mid-afternoon. We ended up taking a taxi back from the Multicentro to our hotel since we missed the last city tour bus. If this all sounds confusing, it is. The ear sets and audio don't work. I tried two pair and other seat jacks, but it was the same. This could be so much better, and I think maybe we just hit it on a bad day. The staff was the saving grace. Every person working on those buses was pleasant and tried to make the best of it for the passengers. The buses do visit all the highlights, but there's only time for a couple of the sites due to delays.

We enjoyed the ride on the double decker bus and it got us to Miraflores Visitor Center which was our objective but that's about it. We got on at Albrook Mall. The audio was terrible. When the music was on, it was great but as soon as there was talking to describe buildings, etc, the audio got lower and the quality was such that we could barely hear what was being said. After spending a few hours at the Miraflores Locks, we got back on the bus only to find it left us off in the middle of the city, not back at Albrook Mall as expected. We had to take a taxi back to the mall. We should have found a different way to get to the canal, this was not worth our money.

Dear Suzi J,

Thank you for leaving us your feedback and sharing your experience with our services. We will look into the audio situation as we hadn't received any comments about it recently, we will make sure in the future guests can enjoy the information provided during our tour. We are sorry you couldn't continue your route, probably you took one of the last buses that finished the tour either at 5 or 630 pm which is why you couldn't continue to Albrook Mall, I will make sure our representatives let all of our guests know and remind them when they are on the bus that gives the last loop.
We hope you give us an opportunity next time you are in Panama City and try out a new service we will be launching soon. The Panama Canal Express.

Watch the schedule. If you're staying in the central hotel area, the last (blue) bus for the hotels leaves the transfer point before the last canal (red) bus arrives.
The bus was over 1/2 hour late to the El Panama Hotel on a Sunday morning. The driver scrambled to catch up, but delivered us to Panama Viejo an hour late.
There were several comments on the web about the prices mot being fixed in Panama, so I prepaid for 2 days which I would not do again. Not counting the waiting time, the tickets cost me several times what a cab would have for the same service.
The bus was clean and comfortable and probably works well if you plan your trip around it - it visits the most popular spots. I tried to use it as a backup / alternative to other tours and that wasn't satisfactory.
