The locks itself are very interesting, but the museum gives you an excellent impression of the history opmthe Panama canal. The is also a short video which promotes the canal.

We loved walking along the water with great views of the city skyscrapers. It is easy to get to since they have walkway overpasses all along Balboa Drive. You can stop and have lunch at the Fish Market where the fisherman come in and bring their daily catch and they have excellent ceviche stands. At the end you come to the Old City. The walkway was recently built so it is very pristine and well kept with parks and benches along the way with vendors selling beverages. Locals use it for walking, running and riding bikes. This was one of our favorite things that we did while in Panama City if you like walking.

Great views of the Panama City impressive skyline. Please keep in mind that Panama is very humid. Bring a hat and water and take it easy.

It was a nice stroll but so warm!! Still I will recommend to walk around and go to the casco viejo. A lot of people jogging and walking along.

When the Cinta Costera was open along Balboa Avenue it was a great relief to the traffic going in and out of the city via the Bridge of the Americas. Now that Phase 3 has open there are options to and from the bridge. It is a scenic drive viewing Casco and the Panama City high rise skyline. One down side that I found was the lights lining the low railings of the road at night. There was a flashing effect that was distracting while driving. Consideration was made to make some park areas with parking in the area near the new Soccer Stadium.
