We stayed four nights in the double suite. The room was modern, clean and spacious and we appreciated the extra touches not usually found in moderately priced hotels such as the crown moldings. However, since our room faced an alley, it was kind of dark for lack of natural light but was also quieter. The included breakfast is lacklustre but adequate if you prefer continental style. It is walkable to restaurants and shops. Like other neighbourhoods in Panama city, you have to cab it to the sights. This was our first visit to Panama and we eventually figured the 'taxi culture' aka charge the dumb tourists as much as you can get away with. So if you don't like being scammed, do NOT negotiate fare before getting into the cab. They have a system of fixed prices for Zones which is not posted anywhere. The longest trip should not cost more than $5 for a couple and many short trips for a single person are $1-2. Give them what you think trip is worth when you arrive at your destination. The traffic is horrendous and gridlocked at peak times. Allow plenty of time to get to dinner reservations etc. If you value light, ask for a room facing the street.More
