I stayed at the Courtyard for 3 days in December 2008. The hotel is next door to Multi Plaza Pacific Mall a large (upscale) shopping mall. Note that the hotel is under expansion so you could experience light noise during the weekdays.
It has no private parking lot, so guests have to park at the mall's. Rooms are OK, clean and comfortable. room and bathroom space, fitness and business center (4 computers available) were OK. Since they're working on the hotel, they temporarly locate the dinning room in a close (no window) area. Food was OK so was breakfast. Employees were helpful and check in and check out were very easy.

Fairly nice hotel. Rooms are spacious and service is quite good.

Best of all its location. Really close to the finantial district, however not in the traffic that swamps Panama City during the rush hours.

The mall is attached to the fanciest mall in Panama (Multiplaza). You are a cab ride away from Allbrook Mall, a lower end mall, with pretty nice stores and discounts though.

The room rate seemed a bit overpriced. Not sure if it is a US$180 a night place, maybe closer to US$150 a night (when you get two rooms for three nights it does make a difference!).

Across the street is a very nice japanese restaurant called Sake, try the octopus!

Also try the seafood place "Casa del Marisco Acha", simply awesome!

One of the better Courtyard hotels I've stayed in... perhaps to the level of a regular Marriott. Rooms were clean and comfortable. Hotel staff were helpful and spoke English well. Here you get a typical US-style hotel stay, though you also pay US prices.

The hotel is attached to the Multiplaza mall... a large mall full of high-end brands, typical mall-type restaurants, and a grocery. I had dinner one night at the Tony Roma's.

If you are looking for something unique with local flavor, look elsewhere. This is a new Marriott attached to a new mall. However, if you are looking for a comfortable place for business this is probably fine. I stayed here two nights... one after flying into Panama and one before flying out, with a week's stay in Bocas Del Toro in the middle.

Rooms are your typical Courtyard rooms you would find in the States, comfortable beds, decent furnishings, bathroom was nice and large.

Front desk service was attentive and freindly, their english was pretty good.

Tiny pool, small gym, hotel does have washer and dryers for guest use. Over priced breakfast buffet(10.95) food was not bad.

Attached to the Multiplaza Mall, lots of high end stores, my wife and daughter inform me that Steven's has some great buys compared to the States.

Warning however - the hotel is adding rooms, the construction noise starts about 7am including Saturdays, so for now if you like to sleep late look somewhere else.

We used points for our stay, probably would not stay there if I was paying $, I would either upgrade to the full service Marriott or stay at Plaza Paitilla Inn (about 1/2 mile away) or Torres De Alba about 2 miles. Both can be had for about $80/night

Location next to the mall is genius. DO NOT pay the silly prices and deal with the horrible selection they have in their little "store". Go to the grocery store in the mall to buy your water, beverages, and snacks.

Beware of housekeeping. They randomly clean whatever suits their fancy. One day they emptied the trashcan in the bedroom. The next day they emptied the trashcan in the bathroom. They did not seem capable of completely cleaning the room and bath all at once.

Gym is nice and basic (but small) at first glance, but if you want to use anything except the treadmills and weights, you might be disappointed. The bikes and stairclimbers didn't work when I was there, and no one from the staff could figure out why.

The food is absolutely horrible, and the service is not like anything I have experienced in Latin America before (translation - (I have always received great customer sevice everywhere else BUT here). How dismal. These people think they are doing you, the customer, a favor by even acknowledging your presence.

I stayed here for 2 weeks in January 2007 and 4 weeks in August 2007. The hotel was clean and the staff were very nice and polite. After being here once for two weeks, I was fortunate to be able to get a room for a month the second time. The hotel is very busy and close to alot of activities. Breakfast was free every day, probably because of the long stay. The food was good, hot, and the choices were abundant. Most of the staff do speak English but there are exceptions. My phones would not work and I went down to the desk. Some guy soon showed up at my door who spoke very little English. All I could get out of him was "You switch phone?" The phones all say Mariott on them and I was thinking he thought I brought my own phone or something. He left and I felt helpless, however, about an hour later, my phone rang and the desk said it was connected. Having the mall next door is wonderful. Stevens is good for clothes and the prices were cheap compared to what we pay here. I was buying baby clothes for my grandson for $1 and $2 each, a diaper bag for $6, etc. Ended up buying another suitcase to bring it all home. Also, grocery store in mall is good since you have a fridge. Be sure to tip the boys bagging.

Hotel is nicely priced, so no complaints there. However, I am not planning to return.

A/C in the room was very loud, kept me awake the first night, but it was too hot to turn it off. During the week I stayed the carpet under the A/C unit got wetter and wetter. Halfway through the week I started spreading newspapers on the floor to soak up the moisture. Housekeeping did not pick them up each day, for some odd reason. I heard from people who have stayed in the hotel before that they had the same issue with the carpet. As a result the room had an unpleasant damp smell.

Breakfast was OK. The staff kept speaking Spanish to me even though I clearly was not understanding.

The gym only had one sad mat for streching and yoga. Treadmills kept stopping. But there were plenty of towels and the gym certainly was not crowded.

The mall next door is convenient and gives plenty of eating options at the food court. The stores are expensive though. Taxi drivers were totally taking an advantage of the tourist, it did not matter whether I took the taxi from the hotel or the mall, I got overcharged both times.
