“A Clean place to sleep”
Reviewed 15 June 2012

I am surprised that I am writing a favourable review for this hotel because for the price I had expected so much less. The staff at the front desk is shy of any english but if you try a little spanish they are quite friendly. Check in and Check out is fast and efficient. The location looks a little rough but it's ok. We asked for a room at the back and slept through the night with no hall way noise from other guests. The breakfast was fine and served so promptly that you were in and out in 20 minutes. A little fruit would have been nice but then I remembered I paid $55 dollars.
The room was small but clean. It did have a bit of a chemical smell but the windows open...so overall I'd stay there again.

Room Tip: Ask to see your room first and choose one at the back. Those red devil buses are loud..

We paid $60 a night and after seeing other similar hotels realised we were lucky to have found the Euro. It was clean, the staff professional, lots of ice in the machine in the hallways, internet downstairs and a restaurant busy all day - although the breakfast wasn't up to much. It is conveniently located and we didn't feel worried about being in the streets at night. As we are good walkers we walked to downtown Paitilla every day. Taxis are cheap and most people get about this way but there are plenty of buses going past the hotel. Definitely a good mid-price hotel and we would stay there next time we visit Panama City.

Room Tip: Ask for an inner room unless you don't care about traffic noise. Also request a room with new ai...

I stayed there for three nights and it was ok. There are taxis near there, and if negotiated they can act as tourist guide too (Negotiate the fare BEFORE), taking you also to not well know places making it an interesting tour. Not sure about actually walking from there to downtown, since apparently (As I was said) there are some shady places near there.
The rooms were ok, according to the price and they have a simple, nice pool to relax after the day
The breakfast is so-so, so if you want real tasty food, get up earlier and go somewhere else (Even Albrook mall, near there by taxi)

All in all, a good choice if you want ot go to Panama and not spend a lot of money on accomodation

Tip: Visit Panama Viejo, is pretty nice and really near from there, and the contrast of seeing all that modern buildings while you are on a kind-of-colonial place is nice

Rooms are clean. Lots of closet space. Maid service is helpful. The staff has very limited if any English language skills. The air conditioner works well, essential on hot, humid nights. Don't go walking around the neighborhood at night. The pool looked refreshing but never got in it.

Room Tip: The price was right for what you get.

We booked a couple of nights here while we adjusted to the Panama way of life, We only wanted somewhere to crash out after our long flights, This did the job just right, <p>
At reception english is not spoken too well but what do you expect in a 'foreign' country? we used some of our sketchy spanish to get there easily and we had our keys in no time. The room itself was clean but dated, hot shower, speedy free wifi, good blackout curtains! Bad points are no safe box in the room, noisy aircon & very glad we did not get the road side rooms because they like a loud vehicle or 5 in this city! horns & loud exhausts aplenty which we heard from our room. We cannot leave comments on the restaurant because is wasnt used during our stay but looked busy most days. Location is rather central but in quite a manky part of the city, but once again you clearly get what you pay for. We have 5 more nights in the city at another hotel slightly more expensve which we decided to book after realising we are using the city as a hub. Hope this helps. David

Room Tip: Get a room away from the road!

I have just returned from a weeks stay at this hotel and want to advise people that when visiting panama knowledge of spanish is essential. None of the reception staff could speak english and you need to wait for people staying at the hotel to help you interpret if there a no english speakers around you are in trouble. This amazed me until I tried the Meridean reception and the Inter Continental Reception and they suffered from the same problem reception staff with no english. Very few people in panama have a nodding aquaintence with english. Other than this the hotel was good value for money and on the whole staff were very friendly even though they didn't have a clue what you were saying.

I spent 3 nights there in Feb 2011. I have no complaint about the hotel. It is not pretentious and just delivers on the basics. For the price ($55 p.n.) it is decent value. It is about a 15 - 20 minute walk to a decent nightlife area or a short taxi ride to Calle Uruguay / Argentina, etc. The staff speak practically no English and tourist inforamtion is generally very hard to come by in Panama so make sure you have done your research in advance. I only had breakfast one morning and it was good / tasty and served quickly. There is free internet - 3 PCs. The room was quite basic but quiet and comfortable. I would have preferred a safe in my room but did not have any difficulty with any of my valuables and the chambermaid was very efficient and attentive.
