Owner description: Panama’s first national park, this one was created thanks to a landscape created by the now-extinct El Valle de Antón volcano. Avid bird-watchers will love it here, as will visitors who want to take in the incredible views from the park’s lookout spots.

“The best view in Panama”
Reviewed 18 June 2014

We went to Campana on the advice of our tour guide. it is not very far from Panama City, and the climate is worlds away. It was nice and breezy with temps in the 70s. The view was amazing, we could see the city in the distance all the way around to the beach resort areas. we went to a waterfal that is 45 meters tall and the view from there was amazing.

“IF THIS IS THE FLAG HILL, SWEET”
Reviewed 20 February 2014

Yes, there is a Panamanian flag the size of a basketball court and yes, it is a natural reserve. If you're lucky you could see some wild animals. The three view points are awesome.

“A Climb On Cerro Trinidad”
Reviewed 31 January 2014

If you are traveling along the InterAmericana west of Panama City you will see a large and impressive mountain several miles off the north side of the highway. Those who like mountains will feel drawn toward it. A turn to the north from the small town of Capira will take travelers toward the peak.

A bit of adventurous exploring is necessary in order to find your way to the base of the mountain as directions are few and far between. Enlisting the aid of locals along the way is recommended.

Upon reaching the small community of Cerro Trinidad, marked by a large roadside boulder painted yellow, look for a trail that will lead the adventurous hiker to the top, a walk/climb of a couple of miles. The trailhead was difficult to locate and required the assistance of a roadside local who showed us the way to the trail, then went with us to the top. WARNING: This trail is very steep and difficult and not for the fainthearted! It took my friend and I four hours to reach the summit, two and a half hours to descend.

The adventure was well worth the effort and there were terrific views from the summit!

I recommend this adventure for those in good shape and willing to suffer the discomforts of serious forest adventure,

“Above the Vultures...”
Reviewed 16 April 2013

This parc national is not full of jungle, but also barren hilltops and marvellous views to the distant ocean (weather permitting!) , the drive up to the peak is possible now with any normal vehicle, the road twists and turns until you are there. Several places tp stop en -route for aa very peaceful view over the tree tops and hill tops, even higher than the birds sometimes fly....!
No commercialism, few houses, fewer people to be seen, take your provisions and venture up and hike around a little. Lesser birds than elsewhere as there is less jungle!
Watch for the sharp turn off driving West.

“Just Peaceful and Cool Temperature Most of the Year”
Reviewed 1 April 2013

I just love the views from the top of Cerro Campana, Panama. People around the area are also very friendly. Ocean views as we drive to the top of the mountain from diverse points. Planning for future asphalt roads are under way with electricity and water availability. Various B&B opening and a brand new boutique resort very soon. I have 3 hectares and absolutely love the area.
