Though I am a fellow Louisianian, I was in town for business and stayed for two weeks. It is very nice, new, modern, and MOST importantly, clean and safe. I never felt uncomfortable as a lady traveling solo. The staff is excellent and happy to be there. The drinks at the bar are excellent. The dinner food something to be desired. Definitely stay away from the gumbo if you have any idea of how gumbo is supposed to taste. Breakfast is great. My only complaint is location. I would say that this hotel will be the place to stay for sure in 5-10 years when downtown has become more developed. There are other hotels that are in my opinion better situated for the development of Alexandria thus far. Food outside of the hotel is at least 10 minutes away.

Overall great hotel and do not hesitate to stay here!

This Holiday Inn appears to have been remodeled recently. It's located in a convenient location with several restaurants nearby. The room was nice. There's is a restaurant, pool, fitness center, yoga, and massage.

I had the steak and Kobe beef burger from the restaurant and both were quite nice. The breakfast buffet has scrambled eggs made from actual eggs and real bacon which is refreshing considering what you can find in some hotels.

The staff were very friendly and helpful. I especially appreciated Donald's warm greetings and caring service in the restaurant in the mornings. Those are things that mean a lot to this tired business traveler and keep me coming back.

The only thing I found that I would do differently is that I didn't find the chairs and desk in the room to be very comfortable. They were quite stylish though.

I had a good stay and would choose this property again.

I stay in A LOT of hotels for work, a different one each week and sometimes 3+ per week. I have to say this was one of the best experiences I have had! The room was fantastic, though the view of the roof was not the greatest (but really wasn't in there enough to care). The meeting room was great with hook ups to the TV for my presentations. The event staff was easy to work with and did a wonderful job working with my budget.

Which leads me to the food. The food in the restaurant was hands down the BEST I have ever had from a hotel!!!! The duck sliders were amazing, however the real star of the food here is the dessert. Understand that I don't like cake, BUT there was a peanut butter chocolate cake that just looked amazing. Then I found out it was actually made by one of the waitresses from scratch. And I have to say she may have changed my mind on how good cake can actually be.

Finally, the rest of the staff was just over the top friendly, cheerful, and really put the hospitality in Southern Hospitality. I am all ready looking forward to my next meeting and stay.

Although a Holiday Inn , it has the feel and look and service of a Crown Plaza. It is a renovated property but seems like a brand new hotel. It is located downtown and fascinating downtown historical walking tour brochure of CVB , and one block away a Holocaust Memorial Park of incredible quality and complete surprise for city this size. Block away jogging trails on levee and one trail crosses bridge and ends in state park of civil war forts of amazing preservation. Tapas in restaurant of excellent quality and spa in hotel equally superior. Frankly , makes you question where you are !

Room tip: Wonderful view of historic churches from South side of hotel and equally interesting view from upper floors of Red River and Civil War forts

Everything was great! Nothing bad to say about our stay. I was amazed that I was able to get a full nights sleep in total comfort. I normally don't sleep well the first night away from home. The bed are extremely comfortable. A+
