As a little kid I can remember going to India Street, Porland once in a blue moon and having an Amato Italian for .25. This was a big deal as we all got one for ourselves. They tasted so good and the bread was always fresh.Well, nothing has changed in 60 years as these sandwiches are perfect. I don't know if it is the bread or the ingredients or both, but once you have had an Amato, you will never be satisfied with a substitute, although Sam's is close.

We love this place. They are efficient, food is fresh and good. It's always hard to decide which sandwich to order. My young son loves their cheese pizza.

Tomato-paste, heavily garlicked poorly cooked food and harried service. Patrons shoved kids out of the way (they were standing in line). Very pricey for what you get. Give it a miss.

Good variety of pasta dishes, breads, salads. Good size, good quality of ingredients. Hits the spot just right when you want Italian for one but don't want the fuss and mess of cooking.
