“A Pleasurable Place to Stay”

We've been to several different B&Bs and this one was a favorite. The decor and service were excellent. The amenities were splendid. The great selection of teas and coffee and baked goodies were a special treat too.

We parked our car next to the Academy and left it there for the weekend. There is so much to see and do within walking distance that there was no need to drive anywhere. Highly recommend for a special getaway.

Room Tip: City view room has an intersection right outside, so it can be noisier at night, but it wasn't t...

This was our first time at a bed and breakfast, and no other one will live up to my experience here. From the moment we walked in, we felt right at home. John the owner was so friendly, immediately got us parking in the driveway off the street, AND gave us an upgraded room! Every detail of the house was perfect. It was cozy, comfortable, and warm...a perfect weekend getaway to Annapolis. We were new to Annapolis but John was knowledgeable of the area and gave us excellent recommendations of restaurants and things to do.

Our room was absolutely beautiful! It had the amenities that every spa would  have with a beautiful jacuzzi tub, gorgeous spa shower with multiple shower heads, and complete with a steamer in the shower. Every room has a theme...we were in the harbor room, and the details were intricate and fitting.

Downstairs there is a library with a long wooden table to be shared with other guests and also to eat breakfast.  There was always complimentary coffee and tea available all day and night. We had brought a bottle of wine, and they let us keep it in the fridge in the kitchen.

There is also a great piano room with comfortable seating and warm decor.

The breakfast in the morning was FABULOUS. We had a fruit bowl, orange juice, granola, pancakes with blueberries, sausage, and eggs.

Overall it was a fantastic experience, and I can't wait to return!

Just returned from a memorable get-away/husband's birthday celebration to Annapolis Md. and stayed at the Adademy Bed & Breakfast. It is a beautifully restored and decorated home just steps away from the Downtown Historic district and the Naval Academy. It has a warm and inviting atmosphere with antiques throughout, beautiful woodwork and artwork, wall paper, furniture and rooms full of character. Everything you see, both inside and outside the home, creates a warm and inviting atmosphere (including the seating area on the front porch where we shared a glass of wine). My "piano player" husband was drawn to and played the antique piano in the parlor (lots of fun!!). The "City View" room we had for 2-nights was full of character, had a very comfortable king-size bed, and a fabulous Jacuzzi and separate shower with steam sauna. Everything was immaculately clean. John and Joetta Holt are gracious and friendly inn-keepers. John's multi-course, delicious breakfast is something to die for. Overall, a wonderful experience--we will be back!!

Academy B&B was such a wonderful find! My boyfriend and I recently spent one night at Academy in the Harbor View room. What a spectacular room! It was very spacious on the top level with great charm and historic feel, while also having the luxuries of today's amenities. The bathroom had an oversized jacuzzi tub and a spa shower complete with a steam shower, rain shower and multiple shower heads. Very romantic. I would definitely recommend staying in this room if possible! The common areas of the house are also terrific with lots of great character and antiques. I loved the fireplaces and the old church pew that was located in one of the sitting rooms.

The location was perfect - only a block from the water, the restaurants and shops. You couldn't ask for a better location. There was also a complimentary shuttle that would pick you up from the B&B and take you wherever you'd like. We took the shuttle to Crush wine bar so we wouldn't have to walk so far and worry about driving after drinking a few glasses of wine.

John, the owner, took great care of us and made us feel very welcome. He was also the one who prepared our breakfast in the morning which was delicious - fruit cup, homemade granola, waffles, eggs and sausage. I would absolutely recommend this B&B to anyone and am already planning to go back again with some other couples!

The Academy B&B had a sweet, eclectic ambiance that my husband and & I enjoyed thoroughly. The staff was incredibly warm & helpful. The location is perfect for walking to many sights & activities. The rooms were pleasantly quaint but equipped with modern amenities. The breakfast was delicious and the service was excellent. We felt very at home there.

Room Tip: Academy room has a large beautiful bathroom as well as a sauna.

I recently stayed at the Academy Bed and Breakfast for a mini work retreat with my sales team. There were 6 of us, so we took over the entire property. Having lived near Annapolis for some time, I can tell you with certainty that the location is top notch. Academy is located one block away from the harbor and I believe some of the rooms have a water view. Even in inclement weather all of the shops and dining choices are foot steps away.

The interior and exterior have been recently updated but still capture all of the charm of historic Annapolis. We held our meeting in the parlor which was a pleasant change from a hotel boardroom. All of the suites are beautifully decorated. The lower level is apartment like with two bedrooms and a shared living space... perfect for a family!

John took excellent care of us and provided an incredibly delicious multi-course breakfast and home made cookies for our mid day break.

All in all this is a fabulous property and I look forward to suggesting it to out of towners that want to have the full Annapolis experience. I am also hoping to stay there again myself. Enjoy!

The Academy B&B made our trip to Annapolis for Valentine's a trip to remember for a lifetime! We stayed in the Harbor View room, a spacious room on the top floor with views of the Academy and across the harbor. The bathroom was oversized and included a large jacuzzi tub, an enclosed rain shower with multiple heads and a steam option. The arrival was perfect, with the staff making arrangements to accomodate special surprises for the event. You cannot find a better location for downtown Annopolis, walking distance to the city dock, capitol, shopping and Eastport. Breakfast made it hard to leave, with fabulous fruit, homemade granola, and hot items including homemade sausage, potatoes with herbs and spices, french toast and omelets (if you still had room) Enjoy!!!
