“Wonderful service and location”
Reviewed 30 October 2012

We stayed at the Academy the night before Hurricane Sandy hit. Miguel was very kind and attentive and served us a great breakfast the next morning. Unfortunately the memorial service at the Naval Academy that we were due to attend was cancelled due to the approaching storm. We left one day early to get back home and make sure our place up north was ok. The B & B is a great location, easy walk to the Naval Academy and downtown and waterfront. Hope to come back again for a longer stay when the weather is better!

This property is a lovingly, impressively restored building just steps away from the Annapolis City Dock and all that is available nearby. Clearly a lot of time and money went into making this building as comfortable and modern as possible while still preserving the historical architecture. We stayed in the Harbour View -- no clear view, but the room was just perfect for a romantic weekend. Breakfast was fresh and delicious: organic granola, fruit, blueberry pancakes with real maple syrup, omelette, and sausage -- oh and BOTTOMLESS coffee! My favorite. Check-in can be improved, but other than that, you will not be disappointed here. Even saw the Annapolis Segway tour showing off the place! It is pricey though - but worth it.

Very attractive rooms with wonderful modern bath areas in nicely renovated house, located downtown. Great breakfast, owner interesting to chat with, rocky check in. Arrived after check in time to find door locked with note to call a number for check in. Number was busy the first 2 times. Finally reached owner who told us how to enter & conducted a virtual tour via our cell phone as we walked through the building. Apparently owners have 2 B & Bs that share a phone line & when an emergency causes a shortage of staff, an Inn can go unattended. The house itself is very attractive and very nicely redone. Prior to arrival, we had verified that cach room had its own thermostat & the systems were new, so we were shocked to reach our City View Room & find it at 83 degrees with the A/C turned off. Apparently no one had checked the room prior to our arrival to turn thermostat on. The room was very attractive & my partner loved the rain chromotherapy shower with extra jets. Recommend you get detailed instructions on all of the switches and levers in the bath area, since there are many lights, fans, shower sprays, etc. King sized bed was comfortable, although there was some occasional street traffic noise, since building is on a corner near the heart of downtown and has old windows. Partner also heard some noise from people on the street. Breakfast was prepared by chef and was delicious and well presented. We had fresh fruit & juice, organic cereal with fruit, and pancakes and sausage. Common areas are spacious and well provisioned. You can walk to the dock & main shopping & restaurant areas. This review would have been five stars also for service and value, except for the confusion at check in and with the a/c. I would definitely stay here again, but would avoid Saturday nights, when noise might be an issue.

My wife and I stayed there from Thursday through Saturday in the City View room. Miguel, the 'inn keeper' is the hidden gem of this B&B...very nice and accommodating. The location of this B&B is amazing! You won't find a better spot. The room was clean and well kept, the property is well maintained. Enjoy your stay!

Oh, and my wife loved the shower!

My husband and I stayed one night at this B&B to celebrate our wedding anniversary.

The owner did greet us and show us around. We stayed in the Harbor View room which you can barely see the harbor, but the bathroom has nice features and the open ceiling in the room adds a nice rustic feeling.

The breakfast was nice, perhaps a tad too big, but the staff was very friendly.

The location within Annapolis can't be beat as you can walk to the Harbor or the shops/restaurants downtown.

We have stayed at B & Bs before, and one of the things I love is the feeling that I'm staying in someone's home. I have NEVER been to a B & B where the owner doesn't greet us, show us around, and make a wonderful homemade breakfast.

This was a gift from our son and DIL who researched carefully and saw all the positive reviews.

We arrived at 1:30 PM and couldn't enter the Academy B & B--the front door was locked We were told to come back at 2:00. At that time, we were greeted by a gentlemen who had just been painting - he had paint all over his clothes. He didn't introduce himself but showed us around and took us to our "Harbor View Room" - what a joke... you could barely see the harbor....just a small triangle off in the distance.

The bed was comfortable and the bathroom was impressive, but the bed sheets had bleach stains on them, and the bath mat had a stain too. I detected a slight tobacco odor in the room.

In the morning, breakfast was a fresh fruit cup, granola topped w/bananas in warm milk, and soggy belgian waffles that were reheated, scrambled eggs and a sausage patty.

There is no front desk, should you need anything. When we went to check out, we just left our key in the kitchen....very bizarre.

The one things this property has going for it is location... walking distance to everything. Otherwise, I would not recommend.
