“Perfect weekend”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 1 October 2013

We cant think of one complaint. The room was clean, the bed was super comfy, the breakfast was great, and Miguel was awesome. For being an old house it was like we were the only ones staying there. Super quiet and romantic. Not to mention its 1 block from everything ! We stayed in the cathedral room on the top floor of the house and it was great. The percect mix of modern amenities in a older home setting.

Room Tip: The cathedral room had a really comfy bed and great steam shower.

We haven't stayed in a B&B in 30+ years and it was a great experience. Everyone was very nice from John the innkeeper to Miquel who really took care of everything else. We stayed in the lovely Harbor View room. The entire house was decorated very nice. The facilties were very clean and nice and the location couldn't be any better. Miquel whipped up an excellent breakfast of fruit, eggs, sausage, ceral and panckes and, of course, coffee. Parking was available on the premises.

An outstanding experience and I highly recomend.

We had a wonderful weekend celebrating our wedding with our families and staying at the Academy Bed and Breakfast just made it even more special. We reserved the entire house and the ten of us had more than enough space in this huge historic home. It was great to have everyone under the same roof with each having our own separate luxurious bedroom and bathroom space. The accommodations were outstanding. We had plenty of parking space with the private off street lot, inside we had more than enough kitchen space for the food and drinks we brought, and there were numerous living and dining rooms for everyone to hang out. The staff members were amazing taking care of our every need not to mention the place was spotless. Breakfast in the morning was phenomenal and overall we couldn't have been happier. We are already planning to book the entire house again for a reunion for next year.

Room Tip: Can't beat the harbor view room!

We decided to do a last minute overnight in Annapolis for the 4th of July and lucked out that someone had just cancelled. We got the top floor bedroom which was cool, comfortable and clean. Plus there was a very large bathroom with a hot tub and steam shower. The walk to the waterfront and main part of town was literally one short block. We had amazing weather and ate our dinner sitting by the water and enjoying the wonderful breeze. Watched the fireworks in town although I think we could have seen them through our top floor window! Afterwards we sat on the porch chairs back at the Academy and watched all the people going home from the fireworks...great people watching spot! We had a wonderful night's sleep and woke to a great smell of breakfeast. It was amazing...fresh fruit, yummy granola, then eggs and the best blueberry pancakes we have ever had. Many nice people to chat with at breakfeast or you could go eat at the 2nd table in another room which was a quieter setting. Miguel took care of us from the minute we got there by showing us around to making us breakfeast the next day! It was a very fun and pleasant 17 hour stay! Would definitely go back.

Room Tip: Did not see the other rooms but the 3rd floor room was very spacious with a large bathroom.

We didn't pay full price for our suite (cathedral view), so we had a lovely time there for the price. It has some very nice features, jacuzzi, steam, rain shower that we loved. It's a very cute B&B and located so close to everything downtown. Staff was friendly, breakfast yummy, room clean and bed comfortable.
Unfortunately it's location makes it pretty noisy in the evenings especially in the summer during motorcycle season and with late night revelers walking past. The guests were joking at breakfast that there must be a sign on the street that says "rev motorcycle here." We didn't lose sleep in our room (on the third floor) but it was definitely noticeable and a little annoying as we were trying to lay down to relax (updated windows could reduce some of the noise). There are also some quirks about the room that just reminds you you aren't staying in a sleek hotel chain (e.g. fleece and velvet blankets, generic bath soaps that look like they were made in the 90's and bath mats that are more fuzzy than they needed to be.) Mere details though, as it was quite comfortable and we had a lovely and romantic weekend.

We used a Groupon to stay here for a family wedding. The price was better than all the hotels we were offered through the wedding party. We took 3 of the rooms and enjoyed our stay. Miguel totally was the reason we loved it! He was kind and made us feel so welcome. We loved his breakfasts. The fresh fruit, the homemade granola with fruit and hot sausage, eggs and waffles were wonderful. This breakfast was the best we have had in a B&B! We hung out in the living areas and I really loved the location of our place. We literally walked a block to the Academy entrance and enjoyed the nightlife nearby. John also let us park our cars in the yard so our cars were not on the street. The only downside was the bathtub. It worked great but apparently, I used up the hot water for our room and my husband took a cold shower. It looked like the tub had not been used or cleaned since the dust was floating around in my water. With that being said, I would still stay here next time we come to Annapolis.

Room Tip: The Harbor View room costs more but has the most privacy and the biggest bathroom. If you are not pl...
