“Spend the day”

Perfect "beach trip" for families with small children. The water is calm and the beach perfect for sand castles. Snack bar and bathroom close to the beach. Beautiful views of the Chesapeake Bay, sailboats, and Bay Bridge. Go during the week or arrive early on weekends to avoid the big crowds.

“It's OK”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 17 June 2014

If you wan't a quick retreat to the beach from either DC or Baltimore this is probably the only sandy beach around. It has a beautiful view of the Bay bridge, an ample opportunity for BBQ and fishing, as well as sunbathing. This is about sums up positive parts of it.
Here's what I didn't quite like about it. First of all, to get in you pay either $5 or $7 PER PERSON, depending on state residency. You got car full of friends and you're down $50 right there. It gets VERY crowded on holidays and weekends. About once every three years they get E. coli outbreak (or high titer concentration, as they call it) and then it's closed. So, go at your own risk.

“nice for a quick beach jaunt but...”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 7 June 2014

The sand will stain anything it comes in contact with, so be sure to wear clothing and shoes you don't care to ruin. It has a great view of the Bay Bridge and there is a food stand and volleyball courts. You can buy a towel if you forget yours. It's ok for a quick stroll down the way from Baltimore if you don't want to drive all the way to Ocean City, 3 hours away.

“A hidden treasure 10 miles from colonial Annapolis!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 28 May 2014

The area is vast and well-kept! The beach is lovely with lots of grassy area bordering the sand (with grills & picnic tables)! You can swim, fish, boat or commune with mother-nature! Mid week is the least crowded. Go!

“A bit pricey at $7 per person, but beautiful views of the Bay”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 17 May 2014

At $7 per person you had better plan to spend the entire day there! The beach is clean and spacious, but I imagine as it gets hotter, it will fill up fast. You can reserve ahead for a private cabana, and in the summer, i would highly recommend that.
