On a friend's recommendation we journeyed from Baltimore to Annapolis to dine at Lewnes Steakhouse. It was quiet there on a Monday - lots of diners at the bar and a sprinkling of folks in the dining room. You don't get the waterfront view of Annapolis, but the booths are comfy with their high back leather benches and we were able to enjoy a quiet family dinner. Service was fantastic - just the right amount of attention. The Oysters Rockefeller were perfectly done and four of us shared the Greek salad. Potatoes were a nice addition to the fresh greens and tangy dressing. All of us had steak - the sirloin and prime rib favored over the porterhouse. Hash browns and sauteed mushrooms and onions were a nice complement to the steaks, along with sauteed spinach. Two of us shared an order of onion rings - another great choice. We were full, but still enjoyed a complimentary brownie a la mode (for our first time dining here). Not cheap, but good value. My only suggestion would be to add some moderately priced wine choices to the wine list.
