Lovelovelove this museum dedicated to picture books, particularly the picture books of Eric Carle. The boxes of books in each gallery about the art on the walls-- or it is the art the art on the walls. The library looked great, but my daughter didn't want to spend time there. The cafeteria is full of healthy, good food. The art room was packed with little and big people making art. The gift shop was chockablock with cool things to buy.

I visited the Eric Carle museum on a cold Wednesday in January. There weren't many people there and I was able to leisurely explore. I probably would have been able to do that if it were more crowded because it's set up very nicely. You learn a lot about Eric Carle and learning about his process made me appreciate his work even more! Mo Willems is also on exhibit currently and his work is amazing too. He wrote "Don't let the pigeon drive the bus!" And many others that I learned about on my visit.

What an amazing museum. It is so child friendly. There are boxes of books in every room to read to children. And the layout of exhibits is easy to manage.
Gift shop is tops for wide selection of children's books.HIGHLY recommend this place.

We have visited the museum several times. They have wonderful art exhibits for both children and adults and lots of activities for kids. They also have special programs and presentations. It is well worth a visit.

If you love children's literature or have children....this is the place to go. It's a great place for a child's first museum visit--the only art on display is from children's literature and often familiar to the children who love seeing it on the walls. There's also the opportunity to create your own art or just visit the museum library to hear a story. Lots of plays, puppet shows, etc. that retell stories from kiddie lit are performed in the theater. Just a happy, wonderful place.
