“Scrumptious scone!”
Reviewed 27 April 2013

Had the most amazing cranberry scone and perfectly made americano here this morning. Staff was friendly, line moved quickly, obviously a popular place with plenty of seating for people watching along Main St.

“Locally owned New York-style deli in the center of town”
Reviewed 8 April 2013

The Black Sheep is a great place for coffee, delicious pastries and breads, or a sandwich for lunch. Comfortable, relaxed atmosphere, just steps away from the Amherst Common.

“Outstanding Bakery and Deli”
Reviewed 27 January 2013

Be prepared to have your socks knocked off by their great Croissant and Scones as well as their freshly-baked breads. Their deli sandwiches rate with the best NY deli's. Sunday mornings the resident Gypsy Wranglers liven the place up with some swingin' Gypsy Jazz.

“Fun little place”
Reviewed 23 January 2013

The black sheep is a great spot to sit and chill, grab something to eat and drink. It's walking distance to the common and draws a mixed crowd.. Always packed but worth the visit..

“favorite place in Amherst--don't miss it”
Reviewed 4 November 2012

...for a really great sandwich, for great coffee, for challah on Friday nights, for delicious European-style cakes and tortes, other baked goods. REALLY good fruit tortes! They'll do a dessert platter that stays in your dreams. There's also music at night. Lots of local color. Can't miss going here. People on comupters, people chatting,
