Stayed with two colleagues on business - my first visit to Macedonia and I was very pleasantly suprised. Swift checkin and having taken the slow lift up to my room (Junior Business Suite) I was pleased to find it was spacious, spotlessly clean with a "disinfected" seal over the toilet. The hotel spans two roads and is missable if you are coming from one particular side and they ought to improve the signage.

The interior is well-designed, with various modern art pieces throughout and nice subdued, restful lighting. Decorated in neutral tones the hotel definitely has feel of "modern luxury"; most staff spoke excellent English and the breakfast spread was superb with several local touches plus, on entering the restaurant we were offered an omelette of our choice, which when it arrived was generously sized.

Finishing Touches
There are no irons in rooms which as a business traveler I would definitely have expected and appreciated. It isn't appropriate to have to ask for garments to be pressed and then be charged.
While Macedonia may not be one of the top tourist destinations, the draw for people to come will depend on word of mouth in part, and I felt that the reception staff could certainly do with a degree of warmth being added to their otherwise efficient and helpful service. In fact, this could be said of others in the hotel too. Personal service, welcome and hospitality are everything.

Meals at the hotel were excellent: the tortellini prosciutto was generous, delivered hot and full of flavour - all at a reasonably inflated hotel price. Others have commented on the hotel's excellent location, but room service can be a saviour after a weary day of work and this definitely ticked the box, despite the totally functional and uninspiring language used in the menu. They could certainly use a spell-checker and a more creative writer, as my low expectations for the food were certainly surpassed on arrival of a mountain of delicious pasta with a wonderful bottle of Muscat.

Others have commented on the other positives and I rarely write reviews; however this new hotel deserves credit for raising the bar in what is hopefully a new tourist destination. Hopefully in the ensuing months, they will sand off the slight chinks of this stylish hotel.

this hotel blew me away, i was in the country on business and had no expectations based on the nearing countries and previous history so when i arrived at Hotel Solun i was amazed at how modern and actually more boutique than most ive stayed in the states or any other larger city that claim boutique but generally only charge you for the claim. Everything about this place was amazing, quiet, centrally located, great staff, amazing decor..what more could one ask for..a definite mainstay in my travels back!

Room Tip: no spa or pool

Stayed here for a night with my partner. Its very near Macedonia Square, therefor, near all the action. Its a modern hotel with good decoration and quite stylish in its design. The restaurant/bar is quite small (I guess they expect people to dine out) so is mainly used for breakfast, which is a very good continental style offering. the room we stayed in was on the small side, but had everything we wanted in, except that the curtain was hanging off its rail (never got sorted out despite me asking). They allowed us to stay until early evening at no additional cost. The staff here are professional, efficient, friendly and helpful. Recommended.

Room Tip: Make sure you book the parking and know where the hotel is before you try to find it!

Very nice and modern hotel in the center of Skopje. Rooms are extremly small, and I would not recommend it for a longer stay. Parking was not finished yet. Rooms are perfectly clean, the staff is nice. Breskfast is very nice. WiFi was working perfectly in the rooms. Not a very nice view as it is between the buildings. I had some problems with AC (some of my colleagues in other rooms too)

Very modern and stylish hotel in the city center of Skopje. This seemed to be the newest and only hotel with nice looking rooms during my recent stay in Macedonia. It is situated in a backyard and the view from my room was not so nice. The room itself as well as all hotel facilities were very nice. The breakfast was really good with a wide choice of high quality dishes and omeletts to order. It's only a 2 minutes walk to the city center with all the new buildings and statues. If you are looking for a nice hotel with western standard in the city center, this should be your choice.
