A group of 6 adults shared a large 3 bedroom cottage at Tradewinds. The accommodation was extremely comfortable and set in a lush garden. The bedrooms were very spacious with comfortable king beds & an ensuite in each bedroom. The large deck was ideal for our happy-hours while watching cows wander past & lots of native birds. The owners, Robyn & Greg, were very welcoming & on-hand to provide information & advice when we needed it. A huge bonus was the fresh fruit available to us. Apart from hands of bananas outside our door, we picked pawpaws, avocadoes, passionfruit & figs - all delicious.
We had lovely walks through farmlands to the coast. This area was not windy, & not exposed as much of Norfolk is.
I would thoroughly recommend Tradewinds for a relaxing holiday.

Room Tip: All rooms are good & open onto a wide deck

We can strongly recommend Tradewinds as accommodation of choice for those seeking a peaceful place to stay - very clean and tidy, lovely decor, nice furnishings and spacious rooms. Our hosts; Robyn and Greg were very helpful and always happy to provide advice and assistance regarding the Island and services if required.

Our stay at Tradewinds Country Cottages was over 10 days in January during which we swam at the lovely Emily Bay, played tennis and golf, went horse riding, sightseeing, snorkeling and dined at a number of the excellent restaurants on the island and saw the Mutiny on the Bounty Show. We were also keen to go fishing but the sea was uncharacteristically too rough at the time - however on previous trips we have hauled in plenty of fish with absolute ease. There are plenty of other tours to do as well - NIght as A Convict, Murder Mystery Dinner, Ghost Tours, Island Fish Fry at Sunset, Progressive Dinner to Island Homes, etc - the Island is steeped in culture and history associated with the Convict Settlement and the Mutiny on the Bounty. The scenery is magnificent and the people are very friendly - everyone waves at you from their vehicles while driving around the island - and don't forget to wave back.

We had three families vacationing together - so the ability to stay in two separate 2 brm cottages and one three bedroom house was just what we needed to provide enough space and privacy for everyone and still be close enough to enjoy the company and fun of being away as a group. All the cottages had lovely verandahs to relax on and view the cattle grazing on the lush green pastures across the road and we had some great meals around the large table on the Jacob Christian Homestead verandah. The table was big enough to seat all nine of us.

The fact that the cottages are out of town is in our view an advantage because we prefer a more rural setting with nice views in preference to being right in town. A car was provided for us to make the short trip into town as part of our package.

Our hosts, Greg and Robyn, were marvelously friendly and down to earth people. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and the warm hospitality. Dinah Quintal Cottage, one of 4 at this site, was an ideal set up for our 2 couples, with separate bedrooms and en-suites providing privacy at either end and a shared lounge / dining and kitchen area in the middle. The cottage was neat and clean and located in a really peaceful setting, and the 6 minutes from town is no inconvenience at all as it is best to have a car to explore the island anyway.

Room Tip: All 4 cottages are set up to ideally accommdate 2 couples and would be equally rated. There is also a 3 bedroom house available for larger families.

Trade Winds is a relaxing, warm, clean place to stay on Norfolk Island. Greg and Robyn make you feel very welcome and nothing is too much trouble.
The cottage we stayed in was roomy, very comfortable and clean.

Room Tip: The cottages come in different sizes and numbers of bedrooms.

We rested in Betsy Young cottage during our busy 10 day holiday at Norfolk Island. The surroundings were blissful; quiet and peaceful, a joy to come home to after our days exploration of the island. The cottage was huge and contained everything you could wish for in a holiday home, including large verandah and laundry. As there was just the two of us one of the bedrooms was closed off but it would be fantastic holiday accommodation for family or friends to share. The complex itself contains 4 separate, self contained cottages and a house so is an ideal venue for extended family or group of friends to share a holiday whilst having the privacy of your own cottage. Highly recommend Trade Winds and Robyn and Greg are the perfect hosts.
