Trade Winds Country Cottages

Well what can one say we were met at the airport and given a car then off to the accomodation, WOW this isnt a usual holiday motel its a huge cottage massive bedroon with walk in wardrobe and on suite plus a loune diningroon-kitchen of the same size and then if needed another bedroon the same size on the other size of the lounge. We enjoyed fresh bananas and pawpaws avacados and more from the gardens which are fantastic. We went to sleep listening to the cows and crickets no road noise just peace and quiet.
We spent 2 weeks here and just relaxed in the quiet atmosphere enjoying the country sounds,
Plenty of room for relaxing or just walking the property well worth the short drive each day to town

Room Tip: all rooms are good no matter which cottage you are in

the most amazing cottage for a holiday, beautiful surroundings and the owners were so friendly and welcoming, would definitely recommend to others. where else can you go where you are gifted with fresh produce on arrival, and welcomed personally. the grounds, gardens and the close proximity to everywhere we wanted to visit was perfect.

Room Tip: the only difference is there is one larger cottage for more couples.

This accommodation is amazing, only 7 mins from the main street of Norfolk Island, so peaceful and so much room, we stayed in the Betsy Young Cottage and couldn't fault it, also so much outdoor space and really enjoyed the animals wandering around.
We had 7 days on the Island, played several games golf and saw everything else available plenty to do for a week.
If you are planning a trip to Norfolk go straight to Trade Winds for your accommodation you will not be disappointed!

Room Tip: From what we saw of the cottages they are all the same with - perfect

We stayed at these fabulous cottages in April, just out of town. The locals are very friendly and wave every time you pass on the road. We were met at the airport as we arrived and guided back to our cottage. As Robyn says the cottages are huge and so well set up. We knew we would be having a great stay and our hosts were so helpful to whatever we asked. Norfolk is beautiful. So many places to explore and getaway from our normal rush in life. So relaxing to sit and have a BBQ at Puppies Point as the sun set. after a week we didn't want to go home ... The a cottage was like a second home and we can't wait to go back.

Room Tip: Give Robyn and Greg a phone call or email to help a organise in advance ... And a special price. We...

Robyn and I are thrilled that you felt our place was making you feel at home. That's our highest compliment. We are a couple of kilometres out of town and to Norfolk locals that sounds like a long drive but truly less than five minutes, which is like going to a local shop for anyone from the mainlands of the world. When you arrive it is like being away from all worries able to just relax and enjoy the scenery. So many thanks for your thoughts about Trade Winds and we will be pleased to see you back any time.

A group of 6 adults shared a large 3 bedroom cottage at Tradewinds. The accommodation was extremely comfortable and set in a lush garden. The bedrooms were very spacious with comfortable king beds & an ensuite in each bedroom. The large deck was ideal for our happy-hours while watching cows wander past & lots of native birds. The owners, Robyn & Greg, were very welcoming & on-hand to provide information & advice when we needed it. A huge bonus was the fresh fruit available to us. Apart from hands of bananas outside our door, we picked pawpaws, avocadoes, passionfruit & figs - all delicious.
We had lovely walks through farmlands to the coast. This area was not windy, & not exposed as much of Norfolk is.
I would thoroughly recommend Tradewinds for a relaxing holiday.

Room Tip: All rooms are good & open onto a wide deck

We can strongly recommend Tradewinds as accommodation of choice for those seeking a peaceful place to stay - very clean and tidy, lovely decor, nice furnishings and spacious rooms. Our hosts; Robyn and Greg were very helpful and always happy to provide advice and assistance regarding the Island and services if required.

Our stay at Tradewinds Country Cottages was over 10 days in January during which we swam at the lovely Emily Bay, played tennis and golf, went horse riding, sightseeing, snorkeling and dined at a number of the excellent restaurants on the island and saw the Mutiny on the Bounty Show. We were also keen to go fishing but the sea was uncharacteristically too rough at the time - however on previous trips we have hauled in plenty of fish with absolute ease. There are plenty of other tours to do as well - NIght as A Convict, Murder Mystery Dinner, Ghost Tours, Island Fish Fry at Sunset, Progressive Dinner to Island Homes, etc - the Island is steeped in culture and history associated with the Convict Settlement and the Mutiny on the Bounty. The scenery is magnificent and the people are very friendly - everyone waves at you from their vehicles while driving around the island - and don't forget to wave back.

We had three families vacationing together - so the ability to stay in two separate 2 brm cottages and one three bedroom house was just what we needed to provide enough space and privacy for everyone and still be close enough to enjoy the company and fun of being away as a group. All the cottages had lovely verandahs to relax on and view the cattle grazing on the lush green pastures across the road and we had some great meals around the large table on the Jacob Christian Homestead verandah. The table was big enough to seat all nine of us.

The fact that the cottages are out of town is in our view an advantage because we prefer a more rural setting with nice views in preference to being right in town. A car was provided for us to make the short trip into town as part of our package.
