We pre-arranged our stay at the Auburn La Quinta (near Worcester, Mass) since we are travelling with 2 dogs. Check in was quick, staff friendly and the room very spacious. A newer building, the rooms are therefore quite good. The sink area has a granite counter top and the tub, shower and toilet all were new and worked well. Large tv, comfy beds. The breakfast buffet includes fresh waffles and the usual cold assortment. I regret not having the choice of a better quality tea bag, but such is travel in the US. There was one drawback. The room had a bad smell, likely from the carpet since this is a pet-designated room. The carpet was well worn and needs replacement. We stayed in another location the night before that uses laminate flooring in its pet-friendly rooms. Much easier to clean and with no smell. This would be my preference. Since this is the first trip in years with our dogs, we are not sure what the standard is these days. Another issue is that like many hotels they chose to design this one with under-window HVAC and this is always noisy. If so many locations use this technology, why can't someone figure out how to precvent the motors from vibrating all night!?More
