Our room was so small we could barely turn around without hitting the bed or a wall. It was also very loud (right by the front door), and the breakfast was limited and disappointing. I can't understand how they get away with charging the rates they do. There are better places to stay on the island, but we tried it so we'd have access to their pool - again, not worth it.

We stayed at the Summer house in Mid-September so we missed a lot of the traffic that comes through. It was a nice place, clean with pretty rooms. We had an AC unit in our bedroom a with a small bathroom. There was a TV and phone provided. Breakfasts were okay. Nothing great. Some juices, some muffins, fresh fruit and yogurt. By the time we got down it had all looked fairly picked over. They had a nice courtyard where you could sit and enjoy your breakfast. It was fairly expensive, but the staff was nice. It just seemed to my husband and I that for the amount we were paying - it should have been nicer and not so worn down. And I don't mean worn down in a good way!

We had rented a home nearby in Sconset while friends stayed in one of the cottages belonging to the Summer House. They made us pay for each child and adult to use the pool even though we were guests of a family staying at the cottage and it was very expensive. Also, the dining room charged us $25 each for two children for plain pasta with butter! That's $50 total for probably what cost them $2 at the store for a box of maccaroni.

Beware! You don't mind paying high prices, if you feel you get good value, or a decent meal but no one likes to be taken. Stay away. We've been back to Nantucket many times over and I can tell you, nothing is this bad.
