I highly recommend Union Street Inn for a variety of reasons. The decor is very warm and inviting, reflecting the very best of neo-traditional Nantucket. The selection of beautiful linens, fabrics, wallpaper, etc., were all top-notch. The interior designer hit the nail on the head with her work.
The staff are excellent! Very service-oriented, professional, and So friendly, but never hovering. They went out of their way to be helpful.
The location, close to Main St, is very convenient to great shopping and restaurants.
A delicious full breakfast in the courtyard or in the gathering room is included, as well as afternoon tea, coffee, and homemade goodies.

My daughter and I usually stay at the White Elephant. Since it was full, I booked here and was concerned we'd be disappointed with the lack of amenities, location or such. NOT THE CASE. I would highly recommend this hotel and now must say it a close toss up where I'd stay - and this may win over White Elephant. The owners are so very kind. The rooms are beautiful, linens are crisp and beds are so "fluffy" and my daughter would say. Each morning we'd have a fantastic breakfast and enjoy reading the paper in the courtyard. Then head off for our short walk - as in only a few blocks - in town. The afternoon tea is a perfect pick up after a long day of walking and shopping.
