The room we stayed in was comfortable and clean. Big bathroom. Towels and bed linen is changed every day. The staff is friendly and very nice. The hotel offers towels and chairs to go to the beach. The rooms don't have a coffee machine nor water bottles, but very close by there is a wonderful coffee place.
I do recommend it but I would not consider this hotel as excellent.

lOVE THIS PLACE. Rooms are charming old traditional. Great conceige and located in the best place in town. Great restaurants near by. Some rooms are in new additions so ask if you like the old feel. The great old bar down in basement is wonderful after dinner and the outside patio for mid day meetings.

Stayed for our third time at Jared Coffin for two primary reasons: 1. It is one of the only places where you can book for one night during the first week of July when we go to celebrate a special time for us and 2. It is very centrally located within the town.

The hotel staff is always very accommodating with calls from the concierge about a week before check in to see if there is anything they can do for us in advance like make dinner reservations or inform us of events going on.

This stay, the staff helped as we made our own reservations at Brant Point Grille and after a day of walking the town, the normally easy walk was one we decided not to make and asked for a taxi to pick us up at an appointed time to take us to the restaurant. At the appointed time, no agreed upon taxi. Instead the bellman took us in the hotel's SUV. An unexpected plus.

Our room was small with a tiny bathroom but having stayed there before, we knew what we were getting.

Nantucket is my wife's favorite island resort and Jared is so naturally Nantucket.

We stayed in the main hotel with it's old world New England charm. The hotel was beautiful and the rooms likewise. Staff were friendly and very helpful, nothing was too much. Ideally located in the centre of Nantucket village.

Stay in a traditional Nantucket home from the 1840's that survived the great fire to become one of the elegant hotels on Nantucket. The main house is the original Jared Coffin home and the Daniel Webster addition is an up to date version of the original. The rooms in the JC main house are smallish, but you are staying in history. Pick the DW addition for larger rooms. The JCH is literally right down town (more accurately at the top of the town) and all the stores, restaurants, etc. are a very short walk away. So what's the best thing about the JCH? The people. From Rachel and Paula at the front desk to Michael who serves as bellman and everything else, they always remember you and do everything they can to make your stay the best possible. Their newly affiliated restaurant (The Round) is terrific and we ended up eating there several times because it was great and comparable or better to the best on the island. We, by the way, have stayed at virtually all the hotels (except the new Nantucket) on the island over the last 25 years.

Room Tip: The main house is over 150 years old so no elevator and smaller rooms. Stay there for the ambience...
