This is our third stay at the Martin House Inn. We like it because it is within walking distance to town, and yet it is away from the hub and noise of the town itself. This is an old historic house which has much ambiance and character. All the rooms are uniquely appointed; each has its own personality and style. The rooms on the first and second floor are spacious with private bath; the rooms on the third level are a little smaller with shared bath. Our room had a comfy queen sized canopy bed, a loveseat, a couple of straight back chairs, and a highboy dresser. The closet is stocked with two soft terrycloth robes which we wore downstairs late at night to catch the news on the small flat screen TV in the livingroom. During the day there is always nice classical guitar music coming from the sound system which you can enjoy while having breakfast of cereal, yogurt, mixed fresh fruit, scones, muffins, coffee cake (all home made; yum), juice and coffee or tea. We enjoyed coming home to wine and cheese in the late afernoon on Friday and fresh baked cookies on Saturday. We enjoyed cocktail hour up on the widow's walk, where you can view the boats going in and out of the harbor and take in beautiful views of Nantucket. A very special place which we always try to return to year after year.

My boyfriend and I stayed in the "Blue Room" We really enjoyed our stay from the time we arrived right until the day we had to depart. Skye, the inn keeper, was so friendly and accommodating. She was so helpful and was always available if we needed advice on just about anything to do with Nantucket, The breakfasts that Skye prepared including the afternoon homemade cookies were always fresh and enjoyable. Our room was extremely clean and comfortable with plenty of room. The location of the hotel was within a few minutes walk from the center of town where there are plenty of awesome resturants to choose from for dinner in additional to all the great shops. The atmosphere really felt like a B&B should feel like and we will be sure to return to the Martin House next time we come and visit Nantucket.

My husband and I have been staying at the Martin House Inn since the late 1970s. We return again and again because of the friendly atmosphere, lovely rooms, great breakfasts, and convenient location. We always feel very at home here, it is very relaxing and restful.

We have been to Nantucket many times, but first time at Martin House. We had a terrific time. The inn is located close to town so you can walk to shops and restaurants. The discount on airfare and access to sail boats and kayaks a real plus on this very expensive island. The common areas are pleasant and the porch a great place to lounge. Rooms are lovely with antique furniture, but baths can be small, so ask. The staff is helpful and courteous and Skye is a born innkeeper and lots of fun. We'll definitely return to this lovely inn for many years.

I was on Nantucket with my daughter who was busy running "The Rock Run." I had a great stay. Our shared room was adorable and extremely comfortable. The inn keeper - Skye was filled with personality and I really enjoyed her company. Breakfast was delicious - Homemade granola mix with fresh fruit - YUM! Anytime I return to the island I will be sure to check for openings at the Martin House first. A short walk to the beach and an enjoyable kayak ride truly topped of our quick getaway. Hope to see you soon.

We stayed here for 3 nights. The Inn Keeper Skye was extremely friendly and welcoming. This was our first time to nantucket and she was able to give us lots of useful information on what to do and where to go on the island. She arranged our island tour and had the tour guide pick us up right at the inn. Our room was very clean and the house overall was well kept up. Our linens and towels were all very good quality Ralph Lauren and the queen bed was very comfortable. The Bed and Breakfast was also in a good location and walking distance to downtown and a couple of beaches.

I would definitely return to this Bed and Breakfast when we come to Nantucket again.

My only recommendation would be to offer other options for breakfast. The breakfast consisted of three cereal choices, fruit salad, freshly baked goods, and orange juice. This was all great, but offering something that isn't sweet such as eggs would be excellent.

Martin House Inn was coszy and cute. The location was perfect to walk into town. Rooms on the first two levels seem to be good size- we stayed in the attic room which was a bite too small but we were on a budget. Beds were comfortable and everything was very clean. Little disspointed by lack of afternoon tea- but it wasn't a deal breaker.
