Thank you so much for such a loving, caring place to stay. You and your daughter were like family to me. The accommodations were absolutely perfect for me and my two sons. We slept late as it was such a pleasant, peaceful location but right in the heart of everything. We rented bikes and had the best time ever catching scallops on the beaches and exploring Nantucket. After dinner in the evenings, we would read in the Library with all the great books about Nantucket. Learned quite a bit! Next time we are staying longer but without a doubt, we are staying with you! Can't wait to see you both again!

I've stayed at this B&B several times, and the location is AWESOME (you can hear delivery trucks in the morning though). It's a super easy walk (with your luggage) from any of the boat docks (don't rent a car - it's really hard to park in town). The owner has handmade rugs, blankets, and paintings throughout the house which gives it a 1-up. It's a little "grandma-ish" in the decorations, but homey, comfortable, and clean. I wish the owners were a little more friendly. What you get for the $$ makes this one of the best places to stay on island in my book.

Room Tip: Any of them are nice - Back of the house and you may not hear the back-up beeps from the delivery tr...

This is a B&B without the breakfast. Instead, they give you coupons which are good at 2 local restaurants. We thought this was a benefit, so that instead of getting the typical continental breakfast served at Nantucket B&Bs, we could get a hot breakfast and pay just a bit more. (The French toast at Arno's is outstanding.) However, if you like having a common breakfast room where you can meet other guests, this is not the right place for you. Also, the owners of the B&B are quite elderly, and we never saw them. However, their daughter, who seems to be the only help, was there most of the time we were around and was very friendly and advised us about transportation, etc. She even gave us a ride to the ferry boat when all the taxis were unavailable. The rooms are suites, with a living room and bedroom, and the bathrooms have been modernized. The air conditioner was located in the living room, and while it was sufficient to cool the bedroom, it wouldn't have worked if the bedroom door was closed. We didn't need to close the door, but I suspect that with the island breezes at night opening the windows n the bedroom would have been fine. The inn is right in downtown, easily walkable to everything, but on a side street so that noise was not a problem.

The owners of this B&B has been in business here for over 30 years. Rooms are nice. Very close to every thing in old town.

I would stay in the main house rather than the cottage on the side. better ans less money.

I recently stayed here with my wife and 2 children, ages 9 and 11 and our Nanny. This is our 2nd year in a row staying here and we find it perfect for our needs. The house is located right in the middle of Nantucket town, which is very convenient for restaurants and shopping. The owners are very helpful with suggestions. Although the place may need a little "sprucing up", we found it very reasonable for Nantucket and the included breakfast for which they give you vouchers for 9 dollars a person, either at the Even Keel or Arnods at 41 are a great bonus. I will definitely be staying here again when i return to Nantucket

The Chestnut House is a simple, lovely, quaint and comfortable accommodations. The best part: situated near the heart of beautiful downtown Nantucket Island. The two owners, Jerry & Jeannette, are gracious hosts. As a matter of fact, they are talented artists as well. The overall experience exceeds our expectations and if we go back to Nantucket, certainly the Chestnut House will be our choice for the next visit.

My wife and I try to go every year. Cozy, hospitable friendly and convenient. The negative reviews must come from folks who issue negative reviews everywhere they go. Robert in Virginia
