“Charming rooms, awesome location, and remarkable service and staff!”
Reviewed 8 August 2013

I stayed here with my girlfriend for 3 nights in early August, 2013. I was in Nantucket for a friends wedding. The rooms here were very charming and cozy. The grounds are also very beautiful, with little garden seating area's scattered all over the property. The staff were unbelievable, they made amazing restaurant recommendations (If you get a chance dine at Cru, it was superb!). As well, they also made the reservations and reminded me about them. Not only would the staff be happy to oblige with any of your requests, they would also literally bake fresh cookies daily and offer them to you on the house, AND WOW those were AWESOME cookies! Sure it's not the cheapest place to stay, but that's Nantucket for you, it's just an expensive Island. With that said, I would highly recommend this place. Had an absolutely wonderful time

Chapman House has a great location and makes staying in town easy by providing a parking pass. Nate provided good advice about places to go and see. Room 10 was nice and quiet, but the parts of the ceiling are a bit low for a person over 6 feet tall. Enjoyed the fine linens and quality bath products.

My fiancee and I stayed there in mid-October of 2012. We loved the location of the hotel and the friendliness of the staff. Hilary and Nate were very sweet and accomodating when we arrived a few hours before our room was ready. The hotel had a bed and breakfast feel without it seeming like we were on top of each other. Our room was very quiet and we never heard a peep out of the others on the floor. And the mid-afternoon cookies were delicious! A cozy, wonderful spot we would definitely stay at again.

We spent 4 wonderful nights over the July 4th weekend at the Chapman House and were sorry to leave! Our son and his fiancée also joined us. We had the most spacious King room on the second floor while they stayed in a pretty Queen room on the first floor. Nate, the innkeeper was a gracious host who could not have been more helpful. He is also a good baker, providing both sweet and savory scones.
Although a continental breakfast, it was healthy and generous, including yogurt, condiments, granola, various fresh fruits, several breads and jams. One suggestions that those from the New York area would appreciate would be to include skim milk, in addition to whole and half and half. I realize this is not customary in Nantucke, but New Yorkers like it.. Breakfasts may be eaten in the spacious, well appointed dining room or the patio in the garden. home made cookies, tea, and coffee are served at four.
Beach bags, towels, chairs and umbrellas are provided upon request. Toiletries (Lather) were luxurious and generously replenished daily. Some places do not replenish generously, which ruins a hospitable ambiance.
Recently renovated, the Inn is immaculate and fashionably chic. I liked the IPads in the rooms and the spa robes, but did not care for the polyester sheets. The bed, pillows, etc. we're extremely comfortable.
Service was consistently gracious and helpful. Location, on a charming lane, just moments from town could not be better. I highly recommend the Chapman Inn and we have been coming to Nantucket for 32 years. Although we are " seniors," we liked the updated, chic decor, integrated so nicely in a historic building. Some, however, might prefer a more old- fashioned look. Rooms are small which is typical for these historic buildings. The interior design, however, made excellent use of the spaces. My son's fashionable New Yorker fiancée selected this venue and it was an excellent choice! She, too, has a Nantucket history!
As if all of the foregoing was not enough, I should mention that helium balloons were in our rooms for the birthdays of my son and husband!!

Room Tip: All rooms have new decor. Room 7 ( King bed) on the second floor was one of the largest. We also ha...

This was our first vacation "alone" in 4 years since the birth of our 1st son. We were definitely not let down. Nantucket is a very special island and the Chapman House was able to still stay authentic to the style of the island, yet was decorated very chic and modern. Nate and Hilary were extremely helpful and friendly, and provided delicious breakfasts! We were very close to the downtown, so there was no need for other transportation. The room was absolutely adorable (#11) and they supplied all the amenities that we needed....WIFI, coffee and a continuous supply of snacks. The AC also worked perfectly and we slept like babies! LOLWe truly loved it and would definitely stay here again.

This was our first visit to Nantucket and a first stay at a B&B. Hilary and Nate were the perfect hosts; friendly, helpful but never intrusive. We were traveling with friends, and all agreed the breakfasts were great, and Nate's scones were the best. The Chapman House has a great location, close to the dock and the quaint town. Since we did not have a car, Nate suggested and arranged for us to take of the island with Gayle's Tours. Our bathroom was small; but the comfy bed made up for the small inconvenience. After leaving Nantucket, we continued our trip up the coast, staying at other B&B's. Some were beautiful, with large rooms, but I still felt the most comfortable at the Chapman House. I would definitely recommend the Chapman House to anyone who is visiting.

Our first vist to Nantucket, and our stay at the Chapman House was wonderful from beginning to end. Hillary and Nate are terrific host - so welcoming and accommodating. The inn has a wonderful location, down a cobblestone street, quiet, yet steps away from restaurants, Whaling Museum and the Wharf. This property is impeccably maintained. Breakfast was wonderful, coffee, teas, breads, bagels, homemade muffins, granola, yogurt, juice, and fresh fruit. Coffee and teas and fresh baked cookies were a nice treat in the afternoons. We would definitely go back! Thank you Hillary and Nate and all your staff for such a great experience!
