“1 Year Anniversary - Spectacular”

My wife and I had a wonderful time. The Chapman House was a fantastic place. Close to everything, perfect size rooms and very clean. The staff (Nate & Maddy) were amazing. The breakfast is handmade every morning and the service is beyond spectacular. We would absolutely come back and recommend this place to any friend!

We stayed here for a quick weekend getaway. The inn was close to the ferry and downtown, and we were able to walk everywhere we wanted to go. The inn was very nice and tastefully decorated. The staff were very nice and accommodating. Our room was perfect for a couple. It was small, but had a comfy bed and a little sitting area. The bathroom was one of the smallest I've ever seen, but it was fine for just 2 of us. My only complaint was that the hallway could be loud and we had someone near us that kept going into the hallway to have cell phone conversations. Luckily, not at all hours of the night. We never had breakfast in the dining room, but brought bagels and coffee up to our room every morning. I would definitely return for a weekend getaway.

The Chapman House is filled with modern charm in this classic Nantucket island home. I could not have asked for a better accommodation while visiting Nantucket. It was so refreshing to get out of the city and stay in such a quaint inn. My room had a comfortable bed, warm shower and in the morning wonderful aroma's of fresh scone's baking. There is a lovely dinning room to take in coffee and the latest news or the outdoor patio to start the day. The location is perfect, just a few blocks from town. Everything is walkable. Nate and Hillary are warm and welcoming. They made me feel very comfortable throughout my stay. I have now stayed at the Chapman house twice and i am eager to return.

My fiance and I stayed at the Chapman House for a romantic weekend getaway. Our room, the breakfast and staff exceeded our expectations! The property is beautiful - the Chapman House is surrounded by a gorgeous outdoor space with comfortable seating integrated in beautifully landscaped grounds. The property is quiet and lush, but you are close enough to walk downtown and to the ferry. The house itself blends historical charm with modern amenities and design. Our room was perfect. The king size bed was so comfortable and we had plenty of space for our luggage without feeling cluttered. The seating area by the windows was perfect to enjoy a glass of wine and read a book before bed. Breakfast was delicious - my fiance enjoyed the homemade baked goods and I devoured the fresh fruit; we really appreciated the options of getting a more filling breakfast as well as the lighter fare. Hillary and Nate accommodated our every request - from dinner recommendations, to writing out biking directions to a local beach, to providing us a corkscrew for our bottle of wine, to suggesting creative ways to spend our time on the island. We left feeling pampered and relaxed. We've stayed in many hotels and bed and breakfasts but we always compare them to our experience at the Chapman House. We can't wait to come back!

I stayed at The Chapman House for 2 days being in for a Family Wedding along with my Brother and his Honey. We were welcomed by Nate and shown immediately our rooms even though we were earlier than the check in time. My room was beautifully decorated in lovely colors of teal and my bed was extremely comfortable. I also had a chair that in the afternoon I was able to curl up and read with the sun pouring in. The Inn is old so you do hear people on the stairs but what woke me up Saturday and Sunday were the aromas from the kitchen. Nate makes delicious scones and muffins, always fresh fruit. He also makes a great gooey cookie in the afternoon. In the front hallway there was a jar of jellybeans for the taking that was also a treat. I love staying in old houses and I found this very enjoyable.

we stayed there for a weekend in Sept after reading the reviews and did not feel the same as many of the reviews that have been written. The staff is very nice but that cannot balance the fact that the rooms are small, TV are too small for the room and to have good viewing from the bed, bathrooms were renovated but tiny, water pressure in shower/bath was not good and the doors to the rooms were paper thin.We could hear everyone who left their room and anyone in the hallways. The stairs are central and steep and when luggage was being brought to rooms you could hear each thump of the suitcases. The bathroom had no counter space and the sink and toilet were very small scale. We couldn't have two people in the bathroom at the same time and the water from the faucet made our toiletries wet because the sink basin was so small. The term boutique hotel has been used throughout the hotel industry for a chicer small hotel properties. Chapman and the sister hotel Veranda offer soy milk with coffee and painting walls mid century colors and have a candy bowl with retro mike and Ike candies but doesn't have the comfort and space of a boutique hotel. The common space living room is small and the couches not comfortable . The eating / breakfast room is small but pleasant. There is no privacy while having breakfast as the tables are small and close together. The positives are their staff, their location, the white towels and sheets and the king size bed. We were shocked that the room rates were similiar to a property nearby with more space, more amenities and more outside spaces. They should lower their rate to reflect their rooms and customers would not feel they were taken advantage of.

Room Tip: ask for biggest bathroom ask if they have quieter rooms away from stairs

We are sorry to learn that this guest did not enjoy hey stay. It is always of utmost importance to us that we provide the most comfortable and relaxing experience for each of our guests. Many visitors find that the most charming part of Nantucket is its rich history. The Chapman House is steeped in that history and though renovated it is well preserved to its original construction. We have done our best to create well appointed guest rooms in a building that was created 200 years ago. We have gleaned from her negative remarks areas of possible improvement and will continue to strive to offer unique accommodations with a high level of comfort and service.

My husband and I spent 2 nights as guests of the Chapman House to celebrate our first anniversary. We are a blended family with 5 kids (7 if you count girlfriends), with both of our youngest--both teenage girls/aka Baby Princesses-- still living at home. Our vacations have either been everyone at a house on the Cape, or taking to girls to warmer climates over winter or spring break. We have never EVER experienced total peace and quiet on a trip. We could only dream of it...but it alluded us. We were finally able to get a taste of what life will be when everyone is FINALLY out of our house. First of all, The Chapman House and it's sister property, The Veranda House, are beautiful. The mix of antique homes with bold colors and eclectic furnishings really worked well. We loved our room, bedding was extremely comfortable, the room was exceptionally quiet. We never EVER heard a peep from other guests even though the property was busy. Continental breakfast was satisfying, plenty of items to chose from. My husband LOVED coming back to quiet naps and warm cookies in the afternoon. The grounds are beautiful, we were so fortunate for a gorgeous fall weekend and spent a lot of time sitting outside in several areas. Nate and crew were very generous and helpful--never intrusive, but always available if needed. It was a wonderful weekend for our anniversary and it was refreshing to enjoy much-needed time alone. We will definitely be back...ALONE! (well maybe our little dog Baxter if pets are ever allowed...he's very quiet unless he sees deer)
