“One of my faves!”
Reviewed 13 October 2013 via mobile

Breakfast is the best. We had the place mostly to ourselves; we purposely went early for a quiet breakfast. Food was delicious and service was attentive but not overbearing.

“A nice little place with long wait for breakfast”
Reviewed 9 October 2013

We really enjoyed our breakfast here. This place is very small, but the food is good. Long wait for a table for breakfast, so either go early or forget about it.

“A Must Visit Restaurant”
Reviewed 9 October 2013

Whenever we visit Nantucket, a meal at Black-Eyed Susan's is a must. The food is always delicious, the staff friendly, and the setting fun. We always look forward to the clams linguini and it is always excellent. This is a gem of the island.

“BEST DINNER DURING RESTAURANT WEEK”
Reviewed 4 October 2013

just came back to orleans, after 4 days on Nantucket, during restaurant week. this was our best dinner!!! casual atmosphere, fabulous menu, and all four in our party loved Susan's. for appetizers, the watermelon & goat cheese and the chowder were great. entrees---the scallops were fantastic, the tenderloin was the winner!! wish we could have stayed another day and returned to try other items. and this is a huge plus....it's BYOB!!!

“poor customer service, small portion(s), they charge for bread(?!)”
Reviewed 28 September 2013

They're doing YOU a favor.
1.Stopped by at lunchtime to make a dinner reservation ....and was told that I would have to come back after 2:30 or to call after that time. Hmmm? For the customer's convenience?
2. Arrived ten minutes early for our 6pm res and were asked to wait outside. Feeling so special.
3. We were their first customers. In the ten minutes we waited, three other couples arrived and waited outside w/us. At 6pm someone came out w/a clip board instructing us that she would take those w/6pm reservations first (like we're going on a field trip) and proceeded to take the other two couples w/res. Well, one couple got the window seat. Another took the table in the far back. When it was finally our turn, we asked to sit at the remaining window table...and were told that she wanted to seat the elderly couple there (who had just arrived.) I guess age has its privileges. We got a seat in the middle. I faced the wall, my husband sat on the backless bench. So special.
4. Ridiculously small portion: My "dinner" was scallops for $29.00. There were ... THREE. Swirled around these was approx 1/8 cup of quinoa.
5. Bread please? "Bread is available for $3.00."Huh? I guess you pay for chips at Chili's, but I don't think I'd ever paid for bread before...but we were starving so we splurged and bought the 1/4 loaf of sourdough.
DON'T GO HERE.
