“Best Breakfasts!”
Reviewed 2 May 2014

Just returned from a 3-day visit to Nantucket. Had breakfast @ the Fog Island Café @ the suggestion of our innkeeper. It was a cool, windy morning, and the restaurant was cozy & inviting. Service was great, & the food was spectacular! I ordered the Greek Scramble which came with a side order of home fries (made with red bliss potatoes & fried to the perfect crispness) and a homemade cranberry/raspberry muffin, served warm off the grill. My friend had an omelet special, which was equally delicious! Mark, the owner, stopped by to welcome us and congratulate us on our engagement, which he had heard about from our innkeeper. We had such a wonderful meal, that we headed back again the following day. We both ordered the Morning Remedy (eggs scrambled with tomatoes, scallions, cheese & bacon, with home fries & a pear/strawberry muffin on the side). It was certainly a morning remedy for us & the perfect way to start off our day, as we headed off to bike 22 miles around the island on a beautiful, sunny day! Fog Island has been in business for 20 years, so they must be doing something right! Our only regret was not being able to return for a 3rd morning, as our ferry left too early! We will definitely be back!

Just returned from a 3-day visit to Nantucket. Headed to Fog Island Café @ the suggestion of our innkeeper. It was a cool, windy morning, and the café was cozy & inviting. Service was excellent, and the food was spectacular! Enjoyed a Greek Scramble which came with home fries (made from red bliss potatoes & fried to just the right crispness) & a wonderful homemade muffin (strawberry/cranberry) served warm from the grill. My friend enjoyed an omelet special with the same sides -- just as delicious! We were welcomed by Mark, the owner, who congratulated us on our engagement, which he had heard about from our innkeeper. We enjoyed our meal so much that we headed back the next morning & both ordered their Morning Remedy (eggs scrambled with bacon, scallions, cheese & tomatoes plus a side of home fries, and a grilled pear/strawberry muffin). It certainly was a morning remedy for us and the perfect way to start off our day, as we ended up pedaling our bikes 22 miles around the island on a beautiful, sunny day. Mark visited with us again, thanking us for coming. It is their 20th year in business, so they are obviously doing something right! Our only regret was not being able to eat there a 3rd morning, as our ferry left too early. Definitely plan to return!

“A must!”
Reviewed 29 April 2014

I love Fog Island Cafe. Every time I go to Nantucket I make sure to stop in for a meal. They have the best wraps and the service is awesome. Just last weekend I was on Nantucket and when my friend and I got to the cafe it was packed. The owner took our name and asked what name we wanted to give or the name of whoever we wanted to be that day. While my friend simply stated his own name, I shouted out "Jackie O"! The owner said, "Jackie O it is today"! A few minutes later he came outside to call our name and yelled "Jackie O! Table for Jackie O"! It just made for a great little afternoon. As always, I'll be back soon.

“A Good Hug.”
Reviewed 28 April 2014

We just got off the Ferrie at 9:30am. the first restaurant we saw did not look inviting even-though it has been said as the best breakfast on the Island. so, we asked a local and she sent us to Fog Island Cafe. It was a Good Hug, for the food tasted fresh and homemade. I ordered the Portuguese scrambled eggs, with black beans on the side and homemade grilled biscuit to die for.

Will return next time we are on the Island of Nantucket.

“Good but not Spectacular”
Reviewed 27 April 2014

Service was excellent but the food generally average. Obviously did not try the whole menu so cannot speak for all of it. For our party of 6 the most popular dish was the Nantucket Fishcakes which were delicious. A lot of people in during our visit which shows they must be doing something right.
